but i do have a boyfriend

If you have a boyfriend surely he could have explained the situation to the DWP? Or are there other aspects of the situation you would rather they did not know?

Perhaps KarenX's instinct was correct after all.

And if you genuinely had flu (rather than the sniffles) you would not be of a mind to post on the internet nor would you be physically able to telephone a doctor.

Im sure it wont take long to go down to sign on.
What would you do if it was a job interview today instead?

Phone the employer and ask if they can reschedule the interview. If they can't, then phone the Jobcentre and ask if you can be reimbursed by Jobcentre for a taxi to interview.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

but i have sorted it anyway have rang them and its all sorted

The main thing is to phone them before the appointment, otherwise the system records it as a missed appt.

She said she has flu, she's not in a coma rolleyes-2.gif.

Will ignore the rest of your post and its subtle assumptions.

I take it you suffer from man flue in that case if you are physically unable to lift the telephone when you have it!! :rotfl: How would you let your employer know that you are going to be off sick? I wouldnt ask someone else do this for me. Not very professional. (p.s My assumption that you are working comes from your cynicism and negativity towards the OP's situation.)

  • You are allowed 2 periods of 2 weeks sickness in any jobseeking period or each year if longer and still remain entitled to JSA. If you are sick ring up now and explain that you are unwell to attend and they will send you a form which you have to fill in. You will still get paid, but your money will be delayed until they have got the form. If your sickness is of longer duration you should go to the doctor and ask for a med3 and claim the Employment and Support Allowance.
