Go into the persons public profile and click ignore (top right).

In future you won't see any further comments/postings by that person.

Life is too short to waste on them

Thanks for this Firewallrob, I didn't know you could do that. There are a couple of people here who I'd rather not read comments from (nobody on this thread by the way).

Cheers again, mind you it may teach me to actually look at the site and what it can do.

It is not just the rudeness but also no advice or inaccurate advice that I have noticed.

i knew from reading other post on this forum and other like this that i may have been opening up a can of worms posting that i was ill but just wanted to know how it works

when i rang i got the guy i normally sign with so he knew who i was, i said if i felt better tomorrow id pop in and sign and he said no bother dont come out if you not 100% ill send you the declaration form out in tonights post and either post it back 1st class or get someone to pop it in and as soon as we get it back will process payment to really at most il only be few days late with my money and ok yes i could have done with it on time but i do have a boyfriend and good family who will help me out if i am short, but think i will be ok, i dont go out like a lot of people on benifits dont know how they afford it, with me being pregnant i hardly spend anything and am waiting to buy baby things till i get maternity grant, and not had to buy any maternity clothes thanks to freecycle got 30 items some of which still tagged for free and they all fit great so am sorted for everything, my mum lives local so will probalby take pitty on me and bring me tea lol

Best thing is just to ignore silly comments.

my mum lives local so will probalby take pitty on me and bring me tea lol Awww mums are great aren't they, I'm a mum to a grown up 18 year old son but I still need my own sometimes

Don't forget look after yourself and let your family look after you.

  • Be careful about taking the form back to JCP-if you do, make sure that you hand it to someone there-DO NOT POST THROUGH THE LETTERBOX as JCP in my area have the ludicrous situation of sending any post that goes through the letterbox to a centralised post section, which is miles away before they send it back to the JCP where the post was posted in the first place!!
  • i will hand it in, the job centre near me doesnt have letter box! to stop people posting rubbish in it

the guy i spoke to signs me most fortnights, and i am/well have been looking for work since i was made redundant but being pregnant is not always easy if they ask me things over phone i find my self telling them am pregnant and you can imagin i dont get very far and i cant hide it when i go to interview i didnt sign on till was 19 weeks and showing loads so its not been easy, i had also broken my leg but they dont seem to be bothered about that as i am stil able to look for work, i even braved the snow and ice at 19 weeks pregnant to go and sign on to be told it would have been ok if id not gone hardly anyone else had gone i was fuming, i asked why they couldnt let me know and was told not to go in and he said they dont do it anymore

yet other week when they had a strike and were on skelaton staff he actually rang me to tell me so i didnt trouble myself, he even told me how to fill my book in and put all my hospital appts on it and ask for midwife to just sign it so they can see looking for job when you have spent so much time in and out of labour ward is hard
  • You don't have to tell the JCP about your hospital visits at all-that is your business and nothing to do with your job search! The only reason you would need to let them know is if an appointment clashed with an interview/signing time. It is also entirely up to you whether you tell a prospective employer that you are pregnant (although by the sounds of it they would know if they saw you by now!) and from a job search perspective, if the employer does not then take the application any further, that is their choice and does not affect JSA at all.
It sounds to me like the person who signs you on felt sorry for your plight when you made the effort to go to sign on in the snow and then took it upon himself to contact you when they were on strike-it probably wouldn't have been something he was told to do!
