Im sure it wont take long to go down to sign on.
What would you do if it was a job interview today instead?0 -

Well that depends if she has means of getting there , and tbh if shes ill then im sure that the " sytem" can find a way for her to sign on when she is better , likewise if she had a job interview
Joanne , I hope you feel better soon , but in the meantime contact the jc and explain .
Dont expect a great deal of sympathy from some posters , they automatically assume that youre not allowed to be ill if you receive benefits .0 -
You'll be fine.
Rules are you are allowed 14 days sickness a year and 2 periods of sickness with in a 12 month period.
If you are ill you should contact the job centre as soon as possible. You can call up before hand but you have to inform them of this within 5 days of the signing date or face loss of benefit.
You only require a sick note of a doctor for any illness lasting over 7 days.
Other than that you just go to the Job Centre as soon as you can and fill in a declaration that you were ill and carry on as normal.
Forgot to add that usually the benefit payment will not be paid until you sign on and fill in the declaration. Once filled in it'll take 2-3 days for the benefit payment to hit your bank account.0 -

This reply is not helpful and does not answer the question.
It seems the OP has sorted it out now but people on JSA are allowed to be sick for up to 2 weeks a year and remain on JSA.0 -

.
I cant understaand why some posters bother to reply , as in Karanex response , it shows a total lack of empathy, and doesnt help answer the question asked by the OP .
I wonder how many new posters are totally put off using this site , because of similar comments .0 -
Hello, I know you've got it sorted out now but I just wanted to say I hope you feel better soon. Nobody in their right mind (peeps at the JC+ are human too regardless of what some people state on here) would expect you to go out with flu as you'd only pass it on to everyone else and risk your own health too. Being pregnant means you really need to rest too especially if you're having a hard time of things.
Keep well and look after yourself,

ring them and let them know you will be in as soon as you are well (they may want you to ring when you are well to give you a time)
Won't affect the amount of money you get but won't get sent out to you until you have been in0 -
glad you got it sorted.
hope you get well soon, and you get yourself better for yours and baby sake..xx0 -

Go into the persons public profile and click ignore (top right).
In future you won't see any further comments/postings by that person.
Life is too short to waste on them :cool:0
