Well I got home from work last night and I had a letter from Marshall Ward saying that "they could accept no further credit on my account due to adverse information that they were previously not aware of". I do not owe them anything whatsoever and my balance shows £0.00 as I always pay on time. So I called them and asked what was going on. It was just a trick to get me to call them. I got put through to the fraud department and I have been told I have to re-pay all the codes I used on ALL my Marshall Ward orders unless I can PROVE they were sent to me? How do I do that as they have gone back almost a year? Can they do this? I only used two codes anyway, but this is just to keep you others informed. I kept insisting that I was just calling concerning my credit rating and not about any codes, but all they were interested in was where I got the codes from in the first place. One of them was a first order code, but they are insisting I repay them all. Be careful.0

Rubbish - cancel your cards or direct debits n tell them to prove they did not send them you and they did not generally advertise them, tell them you will see them in court and give them a BIG GET STUFFED......SIMPLES!0 -

Yes, I am really angry about this. I kept telling them I have a perfect credit rating and was concerned about in the future should I wish to take out any loans or even a mortgage. All they were concerned about were the codes. I said that I was not phoning about the codes, I was contacting them regarding my credit! I have today sent off for a credit report as I have heard some of these catalogue companies can damage people's credit ratings, so I will have to see. The lady on the 'phone was nasty and rude and said she was going to terminate the call if I would not let her speak. She said I have FOUR accounts with them, then went on to say I had only one. I do only have one and it has a balance of £0.00. I remember I used one code for free delivery and one code for £20.00 off but they are going back about a year. Can they go back this far and can they make me repay them as I cannot remember what the codes were or where I had them from?0

TBH, I'm not sure that Very etc. realise sho they're giving code to. I got an email and a phone call on the same day offering 2 separate £20 off codes. I keep all emails, letters and keep a note of times and dates of phone calls. Personally, I have never used any other codes so if they get in touch I have proof.0
