Well done, and congratulations on seeing through such a fake lifestyle. You've seen what's important. A big inspiration to many people.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

Thanks a Million for the insipirational post. I am sure this post will be of great help to everyone of us out there still battling with our debts . I also want to thank you for the beautiful way you demonstrated that the material things in this world dont really make you happy. What makes you happy comes from inside.

Oh my god freebird, this could be my story too (well the bit about the city life and ridiculous spending!) I had my lbm a few months ago and have been making changes ever since. I have not been out on a night out since 5th July and have spent £45 on clothes this year. To be honest I don't miss it, I have a lovely OH and spending time with him is worth 100x more. Also, cutting down on the alcohol has meant that I have lost 1/2 a stone in 4 months without trying. Your post has inspired me to do more, thank you!Saving for an early retirement!0

Freebird, your monologue sounded like something out of Fight Club. Good on you. Now, having just bought a car, how can i pay off the loan......?"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0

In the library trying not to cry. Well done what a great story!!!!:THere dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.
