My local branch seem to be quite strict about this. I booked the review via the website and then they cancelled it and asked me to rebook by phoning the branch. For basic savings like an ISA I get the impression they won't pay you either the £25 or £50. But if you want something more detailed, such as life assurance then they will.
The person I am seeing this afternoon is just for the basic review and I won't get the £25. I then need to book and see someone else if it is appropriate. So lets see what happens!0 -
my reviewer told me for sure that i get both the £25 and the £50 for a mini stocks and shares isa0

Ok thanks for that. Obviously the person I spoke to didn't know enough information. I need to get an appointment with the right person.0

Its a bit annoying to hear some people only had to attend for 15 or 20 mins to get their £25.  I went to Tunbridge Wells branch and was detained for 2 hours as the guy tried to sell me critical illness protection. the minute he said he was tied to L&G ended his chances of selling me a policy. But as i was quite interested in getting cii beforehand anyway, i was prepared to listen to what the guy said to pick his brains and learn more about the product. afterwards i looked for cheaper policys on the internet and found Scottish Provident were the cheapest and their premiums were guaranteed too.
haven't got my £25 quid yet though!0 -
If you include finding and paying for a parking space and walking to the bank, it takes me 45 mins there and 45 mins back at least. Add on the 45 mins (average) trying not to buy something, I'm looking at best 2hr 30mins or £10 an hour. I may as well stay at work an extra hour and get the overtime (and maybe look good to my boss!)0

but on the other hand I work 5 minutes walk from the branch
I was in the review for 25 minutes he told me I was financially savvy and all he could offer me was a stocks and shares isa.
So make 5 payments of £50 into the mini isa then withdraw it and collect £75 for passing through !
£not bad for 30 minutes work£0 -
I went for my financial review on 7 Oct 06 and spent about 30 mins with the guy. Quite useful, I moved some money around afterwards. However, no sign of the £25. I've emailed, written, phoned & went in person to the branch but still nothing. Today I've written again asking for any interest that could have accrued on the £25 to be included.
Has anyone actually received the £25 yet? If so, how long did you have to wait?0
