The full diary?! You got nothing better to do, you know like stroke some stationery :rotfl:

Welcome aboard. I'm nowhere near as organised as you but I get a little better everyday.

I really do love the writing. It gets frustrating when the words won't flow but I wold give up my day job in a heartbeat if I thought it would make any money.

  • That would be the dream :D

Oh I had a good cuddle with my Harris Tweed BuJo earlier so I had the time to get all caught up :p

I only have myself to organise so think that's how I manage it.

Trust me I get left with my niece and nephew for a couple of days and that all goes out the window :rotfl:

I honestly think that parents deserve a medal :T:T:T

No medals required, but an aunt or uncle willing to give parents a bit of time off is worth their weight in gold! ;)

:j Woohoo! At 23.48h on Friday I got my winner certificate from NanoWrimo. I am so so SO pleased with myself for sticking in and getting it done, particularly as I started last week with over 20k words to get done and it would have been easy to give up. :p

I still need to finish the story, though I am in the wrapping up stages, then I am setting a goal for 1Q19 (already ?) to get it edited and sent out to a couple of people for a test read. Then 2Q19 I may (subject to feedback) look into self publishing. (double ). I already have ideas for two more unrelated stories and a prequel and a possible sequel. Shan't be giving up the day job any time soon though...

Moneywise, YNAB is keeping me on track. I got £135 back in my pocket for December as I don't need to pay for driving lessons now until mid Jan (instructor takes December off!) It is setting in 'To Be Budgeted' for December at the moment.

We have spent £30ish on groceries the past couple of weeks thanks to a freezer full of meat. It is looking a bit sparser now but still plenty to get us beyond Xmas.

    Not much else to report.

Hey Lucifa, congrats on Nanowrimo. That's a great achievement around everyday life.

I had a long break from MSE but have recently come back and luckily I had subscribed to your thread years ago, so I was delighted to find an old friend stil here and doing well.

I've had some good luck in the last few years, managed to stay DF and was able to save some payrises and redundancy money, resulting in our becoming MF today. Back here to keep on the straight and narrow. Mr Katsu and I are both without jobs at the moment so we need to stretch out our pennies and ensure we keep track of them all.

All the best for a wonderful Christmas!

Hi Katsu, nice to see you back. I took a few years off myself. Great to hear of your run of good luck! I bet being MF is helping reduce stress levels while you both aren't working.
Lovely, you can definitely be a beta reader once I've done the rewrite/edit so hopefully around March/April. I plan to look into self publishing by end 2019. :j
While I'm on can I ask you all to cross fingers/pray/make ritual sacrifices for me on Thursday - I have a final interview...

What else??? Money continues to go okay. Hubbles is more and more on board with being frugal where we can (mostly food) and hammering the last of the CCs in 2019. YNAB has helped me get him onside. I think my greater awareness of what we can spend where has inspired him. The fact I have managed to fund Christmas without using a card as buffer also helps.

2019 promises to be quite the year - debt free, potential new job and potentially published! This all requires some detailed planning so I will be using one of my surplus notebooks to set out goals for each quarter of 2019. Can you tell I'm a bit excited?

    Happy Monday everyone!
