I expect it was the shock that got to you - I bet he has a small 'member'...... just waggle your little finger at him next time you see him and grin in a knowing way:DSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

Thanks - that made me smile!
The guy was casually but very smartly dressed, which was odd considering the state of our parks and woods - wellies only as it is still very boggy everywhere!
All a bit surreal...Genie

I'm just hoping the guys car breaks down and he comes to us for help.... Jim's a star at work, the guys and customers love him!Genie

Really appreciate the support and help. I'm off to bed now.
I'll let you know when/if I brave the park again. Poor Jim, may be I'll drive him to somewhere else for a run. Still nervous tho.
Night folks and again, thanks.Genie

Hi Jeannie, I know how you feel. And sometimes - Im not saying this is the case with you - but I can get a bit hormonal and weep buckets at things Id normally turn round and say "boll***s" to. The bloke does sound odd, smartly dressed on a muddy field? May be he was in a state about something too, a small brown terrier doesnt seem to fit the picture with him - may be the wife had kicked him out or something and any woman was a threat at that moment?
Dont be put off going back to the park, get in a with a group and if you see the bloke just walk the other way head up with a look of disgust
xxx Take a mobile phone with you if you are alone - its the only time I carry one on me. Also you can get personal alarms that scream for you. 0 -
Ooooo what a big man, threatening small dogs and women
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.
Oi you lot - please
GIVE BLOOD

Ha! Hethmar - I work in a garage and work with men all day and can give as good as I get - in fact I can be far ruder than them at times!
I'm really annoyed with myself for behaving like a wimp! He took me by surprise I guess - I just didn't expect it. I'd like to go over there but if I see him - Jim may go bounding over there to his dog - Jim is very friendly!
I've just spent some time re training him off the lead as he used to go deaf and run off and not come back! So I'm more than a tad peeved that I will feel I have to keep him on the lead again.
As my chores are nearly done, about now I would be thinking about going over there....
Re the phone - I've got a touch one now, and its not so easy to use when walking - I may try and get an alarm tho - where do you get them from?
Alternatively, I'll take Jackie's other half with me..... :rotfl:Genie

Ooooh what a knob!!!
I must admit i do often tell people to call their dogs back or keep them close rather than let them bound over to our doggy (he has some previous social issues so looks friendly but deffinately doesn't like other dogs in his immediate space, he will snarl and possibly snap if one gets too close - which is why we keep him on a lead) but i am always polite about it.
I have had to really have a go at one woman though (buti am only 5' tall
and tiny), she thought it ok to let her clearly out of control rottie bound over and jump all over my dog (on lead) and daughter - i was so angry at her and her answer was he is 'very friendly'. I don't care if someones dog is friendly i think it's about respecting one anothers space - no dog should bound over to anyone or any other dog uninvited - if you can't stop them then keep them on a lead around others. My daughter is terrified of big dogs - no matter how much we have tried to make her feel easier (i used to be the same when i was young though) and people assume because you have dogs you are fine around all - it's not always the case
Incidences like the rottie just make it worse for her unfortunately
Not saying that's what happened here, in fact quite the opposite - sounds like you didn't do much wrong, if anything - the guy had no reason to be so downright rude, if he wanted you to remove the dog all it takes is a polite ''please keep your dog away''. I hope you feel better and please don't be put off going back to the park!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
We did get to the park eventually - and fortunately there were lots of normal dog owners with normal dogs over there and Jim had a lovely time bounding over to all of them and they all had a lovely game of playing trains.... :rotfl:round and round they all went, nose to tail .... :rotfl:
We walked all through the woods afterwards and then back through the park where Jim tried to join in a few games of football with some lads! Jim absolutely adores children - he is besotted with them!
And then back home. I enjoyed it nearly almost..... I was on 'alert' for most of the time - keeping an eye out for 'bully boy'.
Fingers crossed it goes well from now onwards and my poodle doesn't upset any more 'big men' !!
Confidence - nearly restored..

LOL You'd be welcome to him, except that I have loads and loads of gardening slavery for him to do, I'll let you know when I'm finished with him!
