Not as bad anymore. But still the free ones are better and faster. Just less updates[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I'd strongly advise you to check out ESET NOD32 which is continually proven to be the most effective antivirus software on the market.
HTH
I'm evaluating Kaspersky Anti Virus at the moment. seems good.
Interestingly though, a disc I scanned with the free version of Avast picked up two threats, whereas Kaspersky has ignored them. It could be a case of false positives.
I also have the full version of ESET.NOD32, though I haven't installed it yet.
Either way, obtaining the free version of Avast is a recommendation.0 -
Hermia wrote:Well, £20 actually. I used Norton Antivirus on my old computer and each year it would just cost me a few pounds to renew it. I was always very happy with the product so bought Norton again when I got my new computer last year. I have now come up to renewal time and have discovered it will cost me £19.99 to renew it. Does anyone know why there has been such a price rise?
What version are you using?0 -
I would urge you to give NOD32 a go, you'll never look back. (Dont work for them BTW: just spent a lot of time and effort evaluating AV solutions for work and this won hands down, as it does in all the virus bulletins published online)Donnie wrote:I'm evaluating Kaspersky Anti Virus at the moment. seems good.

i used to use Avast with out any problems for free....paired with Zone Alarms firewall which is THE best and is also free in no frills mode
for years.
i got a good deal on kaspersky with my comp so i,m with that at the mo but i may go back to avast after my 12 months
Norton + Mcafee are to anti virus what Budweiser and Carling are to beer pretty crap but the most identifyable and popular due to their large advertising.
if you are going to pay for premium anti virus i recommend Zone alarms security suite as all in one solutionBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

I'm inclined to believe you. Just loathe to get rid of Kaspersky so soon.
I'll give it a bit longer. That will give me time to take a look at the GUI of NOD32.

Could someone tell me whether it's worth me changing to AVG or sticking with McAfee Enterprise, since I don't pay for it anyway?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
