Im having a nightmare with tax credits too!
My DLA was up in Jan, and had to wait a bit while i appealed (and won) my DLA back, Told tax credits i got DLA again but it wouldnt generate any payments, this went on a few weeks
I was then told to re apply, so have done that and now im waiting
its been 4 months now without any money and im fed up of waiting for them. they havent even got (or processed) my new application - and dont want to wait another 4 weeks for them to start my claim - and will need money backdating too!
So much hassle! GrrrMake £10 a day Challenge June - £1700 -
I honestly think it's hit and miss with this department. Every time I have called they have been very helpful, even when I changed my claim to a single person's claim it was as smooth as a baby's bum. I do feel for you guys who've had problems, really can't be much fun

I went from a couple claim to a sinngle claim Feb 2008 and it only took around 10 days to sort out. Maybe as already said, this is a very busy time of year?Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

Did you do yours over the phone?
From what I know, doing it one the phone is so much quicker, took my friend less then a week to start getting money a few weeks ago. It also seems hit and miss as to whether they let you do it over the phone, I asked and was told no.
Im still waiting for my claim to be sorted, it is on the system, processed, nothing at all flagged up so it seems (to me) that I just need someone to push the button to get send the payment/award out!0 -
You can only do it over the phone if you have a joint claim on the system and you have split with your partner so are changing to a single claim, anything else you have to get a pack.
Joint to single is usually quicker, but the t/s is up to 3 weeks for new claims ;/0 -
