hhh am only asking for people to do it for monday. if you then choose to carry on saving it each day thats up to you. the idea is mini moves that you can commit to for that day.
It is easier and my chance of success higher if I commit to making my lunch to take to work instead of buying at work just for tomorrow. If I make the commitment or consider making the commitment for every single time I go to work then I immediately feel a lot of pressure and anxiety about my ability to stick to it.
This is about asking for just this one day what little extra thing can I do. high likelihood of succeeding and can see steps being made.
so does that mean you will have a red bull-less monday hhh?

So mondays question is - what can you do today to save at least £1 and add it to your 10k total?

1 less car journey, hang clothes out to dry instead of use dryer. switch off all ancillary computer stuff while you are using the computer. spend one day without tv on standby, eat a salad instead of switching cooker on for meal? even though you plan not to physically exchange cash tomorrow there may be ways to cut back just for 1 day that may save you money?but as I said I'm really doing it for me but glad if anyone else wants to join me.

    True,

I know my reply wasnt in the spirit of the challenge - sorry had pm's arrive and wanted to reply to two things at once

I have one car journey I need to make, All unneeded electrical equipment gets turned off as soon as possible and unplugged - my wife thinks everything is going to set the house alight if its left plugged in

Eat a Salad!!!!! Are you having a laugh????? I am a man and not a cow :rotfl::rotfl:

However I will list at least 15 items on ebay in exchange for the first days £1 to try and achieve more income.

    NLID moooooooo!!!
your response sparked me to think of ways we could save money even when we aren't physically spending it which had entered my head but only briefly. so thanks.
theres loads on the old style board including making a cup of tea with just the right amount of water in the kettle and then once boiled putting the water for next cup in. don't switch on till ready but the water will absob heat from the freshly boiled kettle and although it won't retain it for ever will need slightly less energy to get to the boil than really cold from the tap.
wow it will only save a tiny amount of money but what thinking to come up with that. it would never have crossed my mind!

Hi Jo - i love this idea - like you say it totally removes the pressure but still gives a sense of achievement. I'm definitely in :) I've been keeping up with the thread although not posting. I was so touched by everyone who posted kind comments about my ducks. I was quite shocked about how affected i was as i've always considered myself fairly resilient, but i think it was because i've invested a lot more in them than them just being pets - they were symbolic of a happy life as well somehow - that probably sounds daft! Thank you for your kind words.
I was quite anxious about re-posting in case i'd been away too long, but i've had some nice comments/ 'like's on facebook too. You're all amazing - the group is amazing. It feels a huge part of my life - others have laughed but it's their loss! Sorry for all the dribbling! xxx
