Just had a phone call from talk talk...have ben wanting to get away from AOL for ages but the only thing stopping me was the fact I'd have to change my email address on everything-supposedly now I can keep my email addy @aol.com yay! So I've switched to them and will be saving a fiver a month :-)0 -
thats really interesting MM. I wondered if that sort of thing was possible but hadn't got any further than wondering.

MoneyM, that's good I hate AOL they are the worst company. I switched to BT Broadband a while back, pricey yes - but I rarely have problems, and the homehub was an easy way for me to set up wireless as I wasted a lot of money on routers and such with no joy.
The cheeky bleeders still took money from me for 5 months after I cancelled the contract with them and then had the cheek to only offer half the money back because I didn't tell them I was leaving. Duh! Course I did, I couldn't have left without the code thingymebob. Bleeding miscreants!

Pipex got to the point of being quite annoying to me - with calls 9 times a day of asking me for the £21.24 I supposedly owed them, sending my account to a DCA etc etc etc.
In the end I wrote a Letter stating if they did not look into there records (I moved broadband on the day my bill was due intentionally and gave them 30 days notice as required in my contract, so did not owe them a penny) and correct the mistakes which they had made, I would be suing for time wasting (I had spent 5+ hours on the phone to mumbai) and harrassment.
They left me alone in the end...£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

aol - enough said really about them. Had to take them to court because of the same issues as you dilli. They took payments for 18 months after we left and even though we cancelled the DD they kept setting it up and taking money, Anyway long story short i won the case got my court fees and payments back. AOL sent me the money along with an apology letter and extra £150 "goodwill payment":j:jDribbling my way to financial success:j:j

If you have switched to Talk Talk then pretty soon you will get some 'English' workers cold calling about upgrading packages. They kept calling us asking for Mr Gilmore (well no Mr Gilmore here) and were pretty downright rude when I told them this. Apparently because there calling from an Indian call centre then TPS doesn't apply .
Just had to share this, my little monster in the washing/ironing basket :rotfl:
Sorry about the size, no idea how to minimise it.
On a plus point, got £97 of stuff for my mums Xmas for zilch - woohoo.

very cute Nikki, just pressed refresh and got a surprise when I saw that big beaming face in front of me!“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
