My cordless phone won't charge  Power seems to be getting through to the base unit, so could it be the batteries? They're rechargeable, and I haven't had the phone that many months, do they wear out that quickly?0

Good phone, you get about 18 months, carp phone and you are lucky if it lasts 3 months. Sorry! Had it happen to me before. Is it still under warranty? Or can you do a naughty, buy a new one, swap the battery pack, then take the new one back?, say its not working and get a refund? (OH is dodgy down to the bone, so don't know if you can do this, or if it is just him who does this?)
Welcome back btw! How was the break?turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -
Hi Amber. phones are annoying like that. grr. hope you had a good trip.
Hi Laura hope the esaay went ok and glad to see you back.
Nixi you sound really focussed and positive at the moment. Go Girl. but don't forget to stop and wiggle your bum from time to time.

It was good to have a break from work, but now it's time to get back to work ... hence needing the phone! Just checked it and it's decided to charge up ... how odd. Perhaps it doesn't want to go back to work either, lol.
Nice to see the family as well ... weather was actually good. After all that uncertainty about whether the flight would go ahead, it was a perfect trip, left on time, no problems at all.0 -
glad it is working! Is it one of these cheap and cheerful £20 jobbies? If so, they can sometimes need propping on the charger differently, by the time we had ours replaced, it had a wedge of cardboard at the back just to get it to sit in the right place so it would charge!
Amber - have you had a look at the Squidoo thing? With some of the stories you could tell, emigrating, tarot, phone lines, bet you could do well out of it! Worth a shot? Glad you had a lovely time, sounds like you very much needed the break. xx
Why do people always wait until the most inconvenient times to order things? Now have 2 more parcels to pack up and take with me into town, still a sale is a sale and all that. Anywho, better carry on packing, really not helping that DD is unpacking everything as I go.turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -
I'm sure they can see you've laready been to the post office and then wait til youve come back to order! I always get that too, you feel bad complaining coz its an order but then you have to trek outside again!0

Hi all!
welcome back Amber,
Cagne- yes, watch your Ebay listings - I had around 100 items listed and because a fair few of them were the same kind of thing (old knitting patterns!!!) and most weeks I didn't sell any, I relisted - Ebay made me upgrade to a business account (no more free 99p listings) so now it's not worth my while selling them on Ebay at all! Other things I had listed were the usual varied bits from around my house plus some clothes and a set of Ted Baker mens' stuff my DH can't use! It really was obvious that I wasn't a business - for a start I was only selling about £10 of stuff each week!
Jo70mo - Squidoo does seem to generate traffic well - DH set a lens up about 2 years ago, never updated it yet, but it still sends quite a bit of traffic to his website. Needless to say, it's never earned him anything yet! I keep thinking about it - dunno what to do one on yet though!
Am feeling more than depressed about moneymaking at the mo - just de-listed over 40 books off my Amazon listings - they've been in 3 big crates on my landing for over 2 years now - they are going to the charity shop, I'm sorry to say. Amazon took a dive for me about 18 months ago and never picked up again. Car boots are not really very profitable around here and we have quite a bit of FIL's stuff coming into the house as we clear his flat out - just can't cope with any more boxes and bags of stuff hanging around every available bit of floorspace!Starting to feel stressful.
Was going to join the Nielsen survey thingy that someone on here put a link to - but they just wanted to know far too much info about me - then I came to a question wantinmg to know the names and details of everyone living in my house - as my sons are all adults, I didn't feel it was appropriate to do that. So I gave it a miss.
Got to go and do the Tesco shopping in a mo - feeling fed up:( the day job is also disappearing under me - my hours are now 5 a weekbut started off 6 years ago as 5 days a week! Not sure whether to give it up - but then i think ah, well 5 hours is better than nothing.
Sorry for the rant all!0 -
Mabel - we are on a roll with the coincidences this morning! OH is buying a new boat to fix up. He left me the envelope to post the cheque off, and he lives just round the corner from you (as in same postcode except the last letter)! So if you see a boat parked in a field, then it is OHs new toy! Irony hey! Parcel is coming citylink btw
Amber lol! You got a while left in it yet! Mine was still going until it got salt water in the plug, they don't like that!
Mrs M - rant away, everything sucks atm. EBay are carp, Amazon is hit and miss and work of any sort seems to be biting most people in the bum atm. Hope you get everything sorted out. Like you said, ok, so its dropped, but it is still 5 hours better off you are than some. xturn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -
Having an awful week, all drama! Won't bore you guys with the details but everything will be ok, I'll make it ok
Amber - Don't suppose you could use your psychic abilities to help find my purse?? It's very much lost even though I vaguely remember putting it 'in a safe place' - yes one of them, always the case! DS swears he doesn't know where it is and I believe him, he's a rubbish liar and likes being helpful so even if he wanted to have secrets he couldn't! Feeling really lost without it, I'm kinda worried about going out, into the real world, without any money on me!0
