  • Still got GD, taking her back shortly, wish me luck
DD wants me to wait till shes back from school so she can say bye to her.....very doting auntie
My middle DD is not happy about recent events, plus I bought her and her sister tickets to see Courtney Love at Glasgow and she is concerned her sis will bail on her and she will be left with no one to go with.....its not fair on her
I noticed she was asking if anyone wanted to buy tickets cheap on FB, so I am going to have to brotch subject and try and get a straight answer wether she still wants to go or not.....stress :(

nlid have you thought about going on the wanna buy it forum here and saying what the things are you are needing and what sort of price you are thinking of . other people may have ideas or info that would help you. or post them here and we'll have a go at seeing what we can come up with. have you also becom a member of freecycle or freegle. can quite often get stuff off their for free and some really good stuff often.
or look at preloved/ mumsnet local boards/
it does get demoralising but sometimes you do have to just keep pressing forwards even if it feels like just plodding and barely surviving. look at our munchki, when she first came on here she was permanently exhausted sending out hundreds and hundreds of cv's and filling in job applications. to me it looked like shae was doing it 25 hours a day. now she's started to break through.
not saying push yourself beyond your limits but when you get demoralised remember it is all an investment in your future. you might not have money to invest in your future right now but you do have skills and time.
maybe shake it up a bit. invest a bit of time looing at some motivational stuff. the guy I posted a link too yesterday, seth Godin has loads of free stuff if you just look at his blog and its all pretty authentic but very practical too. there are lots of videos of him too as well as articles and free ebooks. I often hate people like this but he makes so much sense.there is a lot of free marketing stuff you can do these days too if you can get your head round it.
go for a walk, a swim, a run, cycle or something to blow away cobwebs and lift spirits.
anything just to shake things up a bit. not all investment in your project needs to be dedicated work hours. keeping your self inspired and with good energy levels is important too and every bit as much of an investmeant.

sorry NLID its just you said there were some things you desperately need but can't find at a price you and OH thinks is reasonable.
glad you find the dribblers inspiring. I do too. Dilli has done a great job of marketing her blog and business and I think there are people outside of this forum who could be pretty inspirational on the free marketing front too. cagne was putting an inspiring video of the week on his blog but is on hold at the moment.
    just thoughts hun.

Some times when I rant on I go on about hopes and aspirations - like a brand new car for less than a tenner - hiring staff to take on some of my responsibilities so I can just spend my time doing what I am good at - rather than the sodding paperwork.

Like I said - a lot of these things can not be changed until I get an office, which is something else I can not yet afford - Its just so frustrating me as I know I can do a better job than I am doing If I didnt have half of the things I need to do to do if that makes any sense at all.

Marketing my own SEO website would be good, but it need a overhaul (as it has done for over 12 months now and I have yet to have the time / energy to get this completed - despite knowing it is something I desperately need to do to generate enquiries. And there comes the next problem - I am not a sales person and as such only about 1 in 20 enquiries turns into any revenue - however I do not have time to deal with the new clients when they come on board so they drop off - as they always decided to come on board at the busy spots. I then have periods where income drops and we get sweet FA to live off then they all come at once and we scrape back upto living a life -then someone goes bump and I lose another £300+ a month and have to fight it back up.

I think I have just sorted out a hosting issue, which should stem £25 of the £90 loss a month in terms of profitability - which is good - however there is still £65 a month to be found.

Im just having a negative day today - I need to get all this crap in the office on ebay and sold.

  • Right Firstly I am going to go and have a walk and post some goodies and have a ponder.... However I think I have a minor idea to turn this negative situation into a positive........

Anyone know any commission based sales people who are looking to sell in the IT Sector with an average contract value of between £1200+

I can provide all of the technical information they need, and all commisions will be based upon ex-vat prices. I still need to work out the details - as thats where the devil is but it is one option I have..

NLID - have you tried peopleperhour.com? A lot of people go on there and bid for work so it may be a good way for you to get someone to do what you want on a commision based basis? Just an idea HTH.
