  • Mabel, I'm reading Unseem Academicals, the book I gave my Dad at xmas so that I could read it after him, hehe! That's what I've done with them all, but I want to get them for myself as they're books I'll read over and over. I need a house with a library.... :D I know I already pm'd you, but I just wanted to publicy say I can't thank you enough for my gift, not least because it's beautiful, but because of so many other important reasons that you understand. Thank you.

MummyandPaige, hope you had a lovely day planting your tatties, the sunshine always brings out the best in us all, just enjoy it! I find flylady flying is really helpful, although I occasionally slip it's the only way to keep the house in check working full time and having two teenagers!! Uh, I suspect, quite strongly, that you do NOT need any more books!!! Oh and my opinion, for what it's worth, is if the girls get on pretty well, they'd probably rather enjoy sharing a room. Once they're older and at each others throats, then you could seperate them hehee!

Nixi, what happened with the power cuts this morning?? Just a freak? Hope your DD is feeling much better, poor scone.

Jo there is no way on earth anyone could describe you as inadequate, especially when it comes to your kids! I think that actually you're feeling a bit guilty about going to work, and perhaps even a teeny bit jealous of OH for the fun time he's had with the kids. Dads are like that, in my experience, I'm always the one dishing out the discipline and he's the one that has a day or maybe two a week with them, and much fun. Both completely natural, but you maybe have to recognise those feelings to work on them first. Or I could be utterly wrong!! Sorry things aren't great on the finance front, tell me to mind my own, but if it's debt related or just not enough money coming in versus what's going out, it's really worth haunting the Debt Free board, they are generally great and you can pick up more tips than a good waitress on that board. Oh, and frankly, who cares if the house is a tip today? You deserve a day off!

NLID, great news on the trial sign-up!! Word of mouth, just you wait, it'll fly!!

    Hi Elly and Babymoo *waves*

Dilli soooo pleased to see you back and delighted you're in a better place right now. Cleaning is highly underestimated to work out the demons in your head!

Amber!! Wonderful news honey, enjoy your time with the family, I think you need it *hug*

Hi Truly, good to see you again! *wave*

YummyMummy what's going on with your leg?? Nice to have a lovely young nurse on hand though!

Mambury I really feel for you, my OH is away pretty much 6 months at a time, miss him dreadfully, but at least my kids are old enough to handle themselves these days. *hug*

Em, we couldn't possibly forget you!! Great to see you honey *hug*

Cagne, wonderful post and very meaningful. We miss you when you're not here and I suspect that you're now going to find your message box full of pm's haha!!

Hey Paula, hope you're feeling better soon honey *hug* Yay on the weight loss!! So very sorry to hear about Grandma though, please please don't even think about worrying over being on here, you spend as much time with her as you can right now, you'll be in my thoughts no matter if you're here or not.

Sorry about the huge post folks, didn't get a chance to read up earlier and I don't like to miss anybody out!!! So sincere apologies if I have....

Munchki sweetie, if I could be down there on Friday, believe me I would!

oh yes, and I do have a dongle, but have not used it in a long time, not even sure if it still works......
    yep, know that feeling

cagneuk you mentioned earlier that csa take money rather than ex oh does that mean she doesn't work if so put in for the lower amount and you could put saving in a bank account for dd1 for college uni ect just a thought .
She does work but not sure how it all works tbh, her mother has married and they have another child but I know it used to be that all the money went to the csa to pay her benefits, now not sure of her situation. I've already got money put aside for her for when she's older so putting the difference into this is a good idea thanks.

Hi Toots! My DD is much better this evening, stopped being sick, now just very tired, hungry and thirsty - fast asleep at mo. thankfully. The powercut was caused by a squirrel apparently - http://www.redditchadvertiser.co.uk/news/8111364.Nutty_squirrel_causes_powercuts_to_thousands_of_Studley_and_Redditch_homes/?ref=mr

    Hope you are ok hon?
Life is a work in progress
  • Night night Cagne, sleep tight.

Munchki, how long a time period is 'a bit'? :p

Oh Nixi, random powercut, poor wee squirrel :( Glad to hear the little one is improving, that'll be a relief. I'm good thanks sweetie, was full of plans tonight but spent so long blethering online that I'm not getting there as fast as I intended!

  • Cagne - the CSA take it off you, keep it for a months or two, then sent it on to her via BACS in monthly installments. Think tbh, the best thing for you would be to look at your finances and think, how much you are giving DD, and how it is giving her a better life, then look at how much it is leaving you to give 2nd child the same quality of life. Also, depending on how old DD is, I would say reduce the payments via CSA, and giive the difference to DD for her to do her girly shopping, cinema and things that she wants to do.

Toots- tatties went in and DD decided that her new favourite big girl job is watering the plants, hope they are hardy enough to take the drenchings she has given them, she filled the watering can up 5 times bless her. Sun does work wonders on the mood doesn't it!

Mambury - enjoy your chill time, you deserve it, sounds like a lovely SIL, can't complain about mine, she is lovely, although she does worry me sometimes. She asked last week if it was more expensive to get a lottery ticket from the corner shop or should she go to Tesco to get it. :rotfl: Least OH will be home at the weekend, could be worse x

Munchki - that dongle had better be working, don't make me hunt for my phone :D bet you are :j:j:j

  • MummyandPaige, so glad your DD is getting involved with the tatties! And they do like a good drenching, so they should be ok!!
