  • Hi Mabel and Jo *waves right back* I think I'm going to have to look out the film now to see Totoro in action! I do have pictures of the one I made, but I'd rather not spoil it for Paula lol. Or maybe I should say prepare her :D

Yes, been getting on well, still building up stock but have also been asked to do a couple of pieces for a friend (you know who you are, thank you for asking me! :D) so I've started on those as I figure the more pieces actually out there, the better it is. Plus its valuable experience, I need to get some practice in the finishing I think. I guess what I'm saying is you dribblers are turning out to be my guinea pigs :rotfl:

This may sound strange but I've been thinking aout the weight loss and exercise stuff and I really hate the whole idea of diets and deprivation and the whole yo-yo thing so I've been wondering about a bit of a buddhist/ law of attraction approach. haven't worked the whole thing out yet but trying to look at it from an abundant point of view - eating things I love that will nourish me and my body and doing activities that are fun and bring me joy. Am going to try and set an intention each day to eat heartily foods that will give me energy and taste good. I will not focus on the times where I slip up and don't manage it but look forward to discovering how yummy eating in a way that helps my body can be.
This may sound a bit over the top but I know how I want my body to be but I want to enjoy getting there so thought I'd give it a whirl.

Sounds good Jo! i had one of those Paul Mckenna cds and the main point was to enjoy each mouthful instead of just cramming it down..trouble is sometimes there just isnt time and you get out the habit of eating slowly .
If your way works you'll have to write a book!
  • Jo that sounds amazing and I think you've probably hit the nail on the head with people's attitude to eating. Dieting is not what you do when you're trying to lose weight, your DIET is what you eat, and that usually changes when people are trying to slim. The old saying 'a little of what you like does you good' is quite true - as long as we eat healthily, with some fat and yummy stuff occasionally, then there is no reason why we should have to change our diet. I know I don't eat healthily in the respect that I don't have 3 meals a day and my meal times are all over the place. What I actually eat is fine, it's when I do or don't eat that is the problem.

I think your outlook is great Jo, and I don't think it's over the top at all, it's commendable that you are using your 'see the positive' attitude in relation to this too!

I agree Mabel, I think most of us eat because we know we should .... rather than for the enjoyment of it. This place is too small for us to have a dining table, but I am determined I will have one somewhere along the way, as I think that is a big issue, not properly sitting down to dinner.

  • I officially love BIN listings, It's so nice getting random 'You've just sold this, isn't that lovely?!' emails :) (ignoring the one person who 'bought' a BIN 2days ago and hasn't paid, obviously ) Latest was a bunch of lipstick testers that were *cough* liberated from my friends workplace, this happens to be the source of about 50% of my make up, however many times I tell him I'm not really a lipstick girl I still get heaps in my stash... MEN!! ;) Normally I chuck the stuff I won't I know I won't use, how ridiculous is that - Even some crappy little foundation testers are on £2.07 auction which doesn't end til Sunday. He may have to liberate goodies on a more regular basis :D

Jo - Doesn't sound strange at all, sounds like a far more feesible/achievable approach.

I want to join in this diet thing! I'd like to lose a stone and a half (preferably by next Monday :rotfl:) I need to have more of a clearout to have the space to put my pole back up though - This can be my motivation to list, list and erm, list some more as well ;)
