Lidl's Tesco's and Asda give them away to. suppose it would depend on the Manager/Assistant in each store how generous they are and don't ask one thats in a bad mood :rotfl: Some Coop's will ask for a donation in their charity box. But at the end of the day 8 for 99p is a bargain.

went to asda and to tesco and they wouldnt give away any of their buckets they said they reuse them. just to let you all know need to go to morrisons to get some buckets though!

If any of you happen to have an old Soldering Iron laying about in the toolshed you can easily make holes in the bottom of any plastic tub without any fear of them splitting.

My uncle works for Morrisons. I asked him to get me some flower buckets and even HE didn't know they sold them :rotfl:
As he works there, he was able to buy them for 50p :T

Does anyone know if asda sell these too? As my sister works there. Don't laugh if they don't sell flowers as I never go in and wouldn't know.

I love the morrisons buckets here too. Our local shop usually has them in piles just under the plant section and yes you often get many more than 8 for £1.
I used a metal skewer to make the holes in mine which seemed to work well.

So when you go to Mr M's do you just ask if they have any buckets going spare?

No, you should see them they normally have them out in the flower section under a stand, eight are normally bound in yellow tape saying 99p if there isn't any or you can't see them ask a member of staff, i do & they always bring some surplus ones out of the back for me.

I make holes in them with a length of 15mm copper pipe, heat one end up on the gas stove (hold it wearig oven mitts cos I've only got a small piece of it so the whole thing gets hot) then stab it through and it pops a neat hole out. I've not split one yet doing it this way.
