A good example of why befits payment especially JSA should be in foods stamps form. I think increase benefits but more food and essentials voucher and less free cash for people to burn away. Bet it would get a fair few JSA spongers into work. Why should someone be able to blow my tax payers money on destroying themselves.0

A very ill thought out plan. How are you going to decide how much each person needs for food and energy? What if it is not enough or too much? The vouchers would be sold on the black market just like methadone is if not supervised.
I have been on JSA since my NHS contract ended in January. Give people like me food stamps and you take away my dignity as well as get the debt collectors after me. JSA is only £9 a day it is not anywhere near enough to support a twenty-a-day habit and live: people are buying cigarettes on the black market. Those who want to smoke will simply use your vouchers instead of cash.
I receive £280 a month JSA of which the largest outgoing is service charges/ground rent/ buildings insurance (£115). If I had kept my flat warm last winter I would have also had to pay £80+ electricity, instead I 'only' have £43 direct debit for which I had my heating set at 14C. My food budget is only £50 a month as I eat vegetarian in order to afford to feed my cat. If you think I have cash to burn away you are sorely mistaken.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
