It was some little chapel in Vegas - would I need to contact them?

Do you actually know which chapel it was and what the date was ?

This may be an urban myth too, but did you and your husband ever do the 'business', or could you get the marriage annulled on the grounds of non-consummation? (I don't really know what I am talking about and am too lazy to google it!)
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

yes you are married - yes it is legal over here (why do people think because they get married in another country it isnt legal???) if you got married in las vegas then ask the vegas county court for a copy of the marraige certificate if you dont have one. then, divorce him in Reno. apparently its the easiest place in America to get a divorce and you can probably do it over the internet. it will probably work out cheaper and easier than getting divorced over here. assuming your husband WANTS a divorce and hasnt already divorced you in america.
  • Sorry I don't have any advice, but just wanted to say thank you for making me smile. Hope you get it sorted with minimum fuss.

You can order a replacement certificate online, my DH ordered one and paid for it online too, as a surprise for me! Awww!!

    We ARE definitely legally married.;)

jm2926 i think you are right about having to be resident in reno but its for days i think? not sure but everything i have read about divorces in america point to Reno as the quickie divorce capital of the world! and its apparently a fun place....all those would be divorcees need something to do!
I still cannot get my head around someone marrying a bloke in another country and then thinking its not legal??? especially as people go to that country especially to get married!!!

Mrs M and I got married in Vegas a couple of years ago....

.... I've checked and I'm afraid to say it is defintely legal.

Only kidding my beloved ..... (She sometimes browses this forum....)

Seriously, you can get an official copy of the certificate from the Clark County Courthouse. They don't take credit cards IIRC so there's a couple of websites in LV that will do it for you for a modest fee - just google "Las Vegas Wedding Certificate"
