Just to pre warn you, there is a knack to using those wrenches and if the access is tight it can be very very fiddly and frustrating!

Gets back to the amount of space available.
How much is a plumber going to cost ?
Spanner is a fiver , bruised knuckles will mend :rotfl:the sealant I just did not want to ruin
Heard the expression , to make an omelet , first break the egg!0 -
You can have all the fancy tap spanners in the world, but with your toilet and boxed in tiling, it is going to be a nightmare of a job.0

I agree, with the toilet that close it will be a right b***** to do.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Being double jointed and having long thin arms is the way to go:p
Although if the boxing in is built against the bath panel, rather than the panel being cut around it, then I don't think you have a hope in he11 of removing the panel!

Yep the boxing will have to be dismantled imo. Might be easier to cut the pipes and lift the bath out. Then repipe with h2o. And fit new taps with brass backnuts.0 -

i am hoping the panel is cut around it, because the boxing in must cover pipes so the panel must have been cut around the pipes? I am not dismantling the boxing in at all, i have thin arms and will squeeze under tha bath if I have to.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -

Imo, you will have to cut the pipes to get the taps out, espectialy the hot tap, remember it will be more of a problem installing the new ones.
Changing bath taps is a job most plumbers dilike.
I dont mean to be offencesive but they look like cheap trade taps.Buy some good replacments that will last and be servicable in the future, go for the like of Bristan.0 -
This is a question that I have often pondered.
We have a bath where the taps are in the middle at the back and as far as I can see are completely unaccessible even if I did remove the bath panel. The trouble is, although they work OK, they're pug ugly Victoriana type taps and if it looked easy to change them I'd have done it ages ago.
Is there a trick to changing taps when they're positioned like this?
Bath out or knock a hole in the wall behind the taps I'm afraid.
Sometimes the wall behind them has a false panel fitted to gain access, but very rare:(0 -
When i turned the water off the other day and removed the tap head and the valve unit inside which just pulled out the copper pipe was full of water to the brim of the copper pipe, is this right. Its the cold tap by the way that has the problem the nearest one to the toilet.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230
