Hi All
Got off the phone with British Gas yesterday and my blood is still at boiling point..
Long story short on 12th march I put my usual £30 on my gas card got home put it in meter and meter just froze on please wait.. 1 hour later still no good, so rang BG they sent engineer out who said it was card that was faulty applied for new 1.
Engineer put £10 emergency credit on for me.. was told to send card back with receipt did that recorded delivery. in the mean time got new card put £20 on went fine, then next time put £30 on got same thing again meter froze, another £30 down sent engineer out to replace meter this time got given another £10 emergency credit.
Another new card had arrived went to shop put £5 on it got back home and it took £4 off of me for debt it had only been in 1 hour so checked screens and the meter had £429 worth of debt on it none of which was mine so had another engineer out to wipe meter to zero by this time £64 down.
Ask them when i was going to get my money back, has I had taken the other £35 pound out my food money. sorry we can only give it back to you in gas as you purchased gas with it. thats regardless the fact that I got the other gas because I had lost my £30 in the first place.
Anyway they said to put £1 on yet another new card and a message was sent down to the last shop that I went too and to go there for the next 3 visits then I will get it on my new card so I did that twice on the second attempt got back home and yes you guessed it my meter froze again, by this time I had had enuff and told them to get there payment meter out and put me a quaterly 1 back in with this they made apointment for 9th april to change meter
Engineer in the meantime came out friday put £10 emergency credit on and told me when I run out to ring back and they will send some1 out 2 put on some more gas till my meter is changed on thursday as a new card would not reach me in time. so I have rung them up today and the woman in the call center said she will not send a gas engineer out as I can go shop and buy a new card and put gas on it myself.
I told her I had already wasted £65 pound on faulty cards and the fact my card meter was coming out thursday I can't afford to waste money on a new card and I that I wasn't going to use it again after thursday also that I was disabled with young kids and that I had got no money to buy a new card and put gas on it as well has I had to use the extra money I had for gas which I had lost on previous cards.
so her answer was to go and knock my nextdoor neighbours and ask them to borrow me the money to which I said how am I surposed to pay them back.. so she said next time you get paid so I said how do u know I even talk to my neighbours.. she said I don't but that is the only solution available to you..
so I said regardless that I've already lost £65 on faulty gas cards from british gas you want me to go borrow at least £20 off a neighbour which I could lose on yet another faulty gas card and the fact I have young children and I'm disabled with no more money till next friday and no gas in the house so I can't cook or keep the house heated your Not going to send an engineer out to put gas on.
she said NO ask a neighbour for the money then you can get gas yourself I must go now as there are other people in the que waiting for thier calls to be answered and I have wasted 40 mins trying to give you option to get gas...
So now what can I do I've filled in the complaints form on BG website... I still have no gas till next thursday now though ??
Sorry to go on abit..thx for looking.. Hope there is another option open to me.

christ,.....got to say that there is a lady on here struggling for cash, and posting for help with her situation and all the help the first two posters have is to tell her to use paragraphs.......is this some kinda english literature site,or perhaps a site for a mock english A level exam....,no its a moneysaving site...get a grip, its coments like this that stop a lot of people posting on here now.0

The first post was so difficult to read that I doubt many would have been able to offer help.
I feel sure that you must have something more to offer then seeing as someone is asking for help and this site is all about that..Or where you just posting to complain about our posts ?
As this is a open forum people do have the ability to say what they think and telling someone that there is post is unreadable might be a big help as they might get more advise now it is clearer.
Finally , not sure what advice can be given..BG are saying they are not going to send someone out and the OP has no money to pay for gas, what can we do ? I personally would get back on the phone to BG but leave out the disabled part as that can make people feel like some kind of card is being played, as broke parent is broke parent..nothing more needs to be said.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

I'd get back on the phone and demand to speak to management! Be firm, very firm but not rude as it is their equipment that is at fault and they need to sort it.Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0

So, dilemma.- Comment on the appearance of the post and offend the likes of you, but give the OP a chance to get a wider audience
- Don't comment, to avoid offending you and leave the OP non the wiser as to why the post is not getting a response.

Thankyou for all your comments...
I've phoned BG.. was not going to send engineer out till I pointed out it was their cards that were at fault and I had not got the money to waste on another chance that another new card would or wouldn't work.
I am at this very min still on the phone with them but on hold while he gets in touch with engineer.. have been on hold now for last 25 mins some how I think they are taking the mick.. I don't think they are coming back some how ????
maybe they're hoping I will get fed up and put the phone down on them...0 -
Regardless of your formatting ability, the way that the lady spoke to you on the phone was rude. I would suggest either telephoning or writing to make a complaint about the poor service you have received, however you already have. When somebody phones you back to deal with the issue, stay calm, and stay polite, and just explain how difficult of a situation you are in due to the numerous faulty payment devices and the poor customer service you had received. Sadly, if you don't want to put more money on the cards, because either you don't have any or you don't want to risk losing it, there is no other option for you to get any fuel0

You really have an axe to grind don't you.
Other posters were pointing out rows of text without white space is really difficult to read.
They simply asked the OP to format the post to make it easier on the eyes there was absolutely no comments on the grammar or spelling of the post.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
