 Eeeek ! That is one scary mamma of a spreadsheet ! I know I have said this before, but I don't think I have said it enough - I am truly, truly amazed and grateful by the amount of work you and Lesley have put into this in order to make this possible.

I will have a look over and see if there's any additional info that would help the testers - well, there's tons, but not all I can easily translate into at-a-glance info !

I have just come up with a way of automatically calculating cals, fat, carb and fibre. BUT it needs a truly enormous wodge of automatic calculations under the ingredient list.

Can be completely ignored in daily use, just use the results, but it makes it EVEN bigger! Hope it still loads into the workspace ok

BTW - used it to calc the cals of the chicken and sweetcorn pie - blimmin 'eck, there's a lot, so it's smaller portions in our house of that particular dinner

am just catching up with all the posts today after being out all day, everyone seems to be cracking on wonderfully

I am sorry but I need help here. If the recipes are somewhere really obvious I apologise. If they are in the usual place how do I find them? They are not listed down the right of my page. Thank you.

I have found a page showing a list of snacks but still haven't found any recipes for:
    Boodle's biscuits - 50
    Savoury bites - 3 batches
Cheese balls - 51 balls (snacky option 1)
Cereal bars - 32 pieces (snacky option 1)
    Savoury flapjacks (snacky option 2)
Scones (snacky option 2) - 4 cheese and mustard batches, 3 tomato, 4 raisins (each batch 21 scone)

We are managing with toast and nut butter and we have carrot cake but a savoury snack would be a huge help:)

Nope, my maths are not up to working that one out ;)

I cockled ours up a bit :D I carefully halved the amounts for all the ingredients, then got distracted and bunged in the full amount of water :p Bit runny, it was. So then I had to boil the whole lot down a bit to thicken it up, which then caused th cheese to stick to the bottom of the pan... Actually, I think I'll stop right there, I'm not doing myself any favours here :rotfl:

Weezl, you and AM were quite right - that's a measly flippin' portion ! Okay with the bread though, and we each had a slice of carrot cake afterwards. Full enough :) DD had what is her usual on pasta nights - pasta topped with sweetcorn, sliced raw pepper and sliced raw onion, with a sprinkling of grana. So apart from all the veg, almost on-plan :p

DD really, really likes the no-knead bread. She demolished most of a loaf all by herself today, as is, no spreads or anything. She did try the houmus, and thought it was rather nice - I was a bit unsure about it, as I really like the traditional version, with lemon and tahini, but if she'll eat it, I'm sold :)

Lol i meant 9 out of 10.:D I quatered everything and thought it was a big portion-maybe I didnt do it right??:o

I was dubious because once I quartered my cheese portion it was a tiny amount so it sort of disappeared rather than making a cheese sauce but the taste really came out in the pasta. Cant believe how much cheese I'd normally put on when so little can make it nommmyyy.

I couldnt manage bread as that would be too carb heavy for me-however it did feel unhealthy eating it without salad which is what I would normally have with a pasta dish.

More likely you're just not a pig :D I normally cook a 500g bag of pasta between the three of us when we are having it with a frugal sauce (which is pretty much always). So while that is undoubtedly a piggy portion each, this was quite a culture shock to us. As I said already though, fine once the bread was added :)

    That sounds about right :)

I wondered about how Weezl feels about testers adding free stuff to the meals ? As in, if you really need a salad go and pick some dandelion leaves - no effect on the budget but it adds in a bit of pizzaz and extra vitamins and minerals.

I'm going to make enough for 6 people and keep 1 portion in the fridge to re-heat tomorrow, to see if it can be done and what effect it has on it.

If you find the oats doesn't reheat, you can always add flour and an extract such as vanilla or almond and make them into oat biscuits. I had to do that this week, when I forgot about one of us having a fasting bloodtest. I made the extra portion into biscuits using almond essence and sr flour. The centre was soft with a crunchy outside and we found them very yummy. I didn't measure flour though.

I know these aren't in the plan, but would ate to see waste, if there is a bit of spare flour!
    Hope its helpful to someone.

I should say though, the oats wasn't the recipe plan oats recipe, it was my usual one made with oats and soya milk, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work. I am planning on trying your oats soon weezl.

Made the Pasta Amatriciana tonight as am trying recipes at random.

Quarted ingredients easily and just used a pinch of chilli powder, good portion size. Left out garlic as I don't like it.

    9 out of 10.

Like artybear with the Carbonara it felt unhealthy eating it without a salad.

I have also chopped up bacon and open frozen it on a non stick tray, used a fish slice to get it off and bagged it up as I feel it will be easier to weigh out a small portion when needed.

4 on 4 off nights sounds like it could be tough though :( potty does horrid shifts too and I think they can mess with your head when you don't see much daylight!

I think you are a shift worker at heart, or not, as the case may be :)

Years ago, I worked Monday to Friday, 9-5, for 18 months :(. It was the most unhappiest time of my life :(
    Give me shifts anyday :D

I recently heard that if you were born in the morning, you ended up being a morning person in life. And if you were born later in the day, then you ended up being a night person in life.
I am not sure how true this is... but I was born at 17.32hrs.... and I am a truely dedicated night owl. :D
Mornings are evil in my opinion :o

Shanks, I hope you get good news :D

Arty, you seem to be doing really well :T

Allegra, cracking post about your reasoning :T

Frankie, I think my parents had your way of thinking when I was growing up ;) ... we had two choices for every meal.. take or leave it, there was no substitutes for anything ;)

    Everyone is doing fab :T:D
I think you all deserve a wee pat on the back :D
