Great new to Pigpen and OH. Glad all is well with
Great to hear some good news
Well have been de-cluttering some ...Easter Eggs and had a tidy of my bedroom. Including a bag of stuff from Father Christmas.January Grocery 11/3740 -
Congratulations Pigpen. Fingers crossed that the rest of the pregnancy runs smoothly.Well Greenbee the first thing I done last night after shutting over lappy was get a load of washing, put it in and put the dishwasher on, went up to bed and [STRIKE]*played my ds*[/STRIKE] went to sleep straightaway. I must say I did have a better nights sleep last night than I have been having over the last week. I did wake up but as soon as I did, I didn’t even give the brain time to think about the thought, I put it in “the black box” and closed the lid so thanks for that, never even used lavender, going to have a bath tonight as kids are at their Grans, will keep doing a wee bit from your list until I can sleep through xxThanks Greenbee, will start with the black box thing, and let you know how I go, I have lavender which I will put on my pillow, the magnesium and other stuff, well I will wait and see how I go and use it as a process of elimination, think I will start keeping a diary and see if there is anything in particular, think my brain may be working overtime. Knew I could rely on you :TOriginally Posted by greenbee
I'm not allowed to give medical advice BUT
- cut out fizzy drinks (they're bad for you in so many ways anyway
)I promise, I only had this as it was in the cupboard, am lucky if I have fizzy drinks once every 3 months Just don't do it again... they leach the calcium from your bones
- no alcohol at all for a bit. hmmm...this could be hard
but it won't kill you
- limit caffeine (including tea & chocolate!), particularly after lunch drink coffee from when am up until about 3, rarely eat chocolateHow much and what kind? You might want to replace some of it with water/herbal teas gradually, as your system takes time to process it
- drink plenty of water (although cut down towards evening faithfully drink 2 litres a day during working hours You don't actually have to drink this much (I drink far too much water) as coffee, tea etc and water contained in food count too!
- eat carbs - they're a natural tranquiliser...hmm never knew that not too many though, or you'll get fat! Just move your carb load to the evening for a bit.
- remove electrical/electronic equipment from your bedroom. It's for sleep and sex (not necessarily in that order of priority!), not a home cinema, and you don't need to be online there, or have your mobile phone to hand. A battery operated alarm clock (if you need one) will do. Do have the tv although no lappy or mobile DH will not remove the TV, I watch it when ironing but would rather read before sleep Remove DH?
;) Can't he watch TV somewhere else? At least make sure that the TV is switched off at the wall an hour before you go to sleep. (And try breaking it while you're at it)
- remove clutter - it lets the air (and energy if you believe in that kind of thing) flow freely. This includes clutter under the bed. I you have stuff there, at least make sure it is tidy and clean! Room is actually ok and its a divan
- Magnesium citrate (not combined with calcium) before bed
- epsom salt bath (start with a teacup full and build up)
- lavender oil in the bath (add to a thimbleful of milk before adding to the bath to help disperse
- lavendar on the pillow
- Badger sleep balm
- Switch off PC a hour before bedtime MUST DO Definitely
- reflexology
- herbal/yogi teas
- walk round the block before bed...Not an option most nights am here on my own don't think I can leave kids alone :rotfl::eek: In that case, make sure you go out for a walk before the kids go to bed. It'll do them good too.
0 - cut out fizzy drinks (they're bad for you in so many ways anyway
