Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.action-smiley-033.gif

    Afternoon budgeteers,

I am suffering today through my own fault as I had quite a heavy night last night on the wine and got to bed at 3am as I was chatting. It was a night in at a friend's house and I stayed over so MSE but not so good for my head.

I was red for last week don't think I was hugely over but somewhere in the region of £10 as I went out on Thursday night for a few drinks with some work colleagues but only expected to stay out for a couple but didn't leave until 10pm. So my liver is rather worse for wear this week:eek:

Anyway onward and upward I am settin £50 as the budget for this week and I need to start sticking to this as it is only 1.5 weeks until I am on holiday so I need to save now so I can spend then :D

Congrats to BB on the purple and also to the greens. Good luck to the reds for next week.

    Good morning everyone!

I'm in the red club this week; however, it's not my fault as I got 'lucky' - I would have been green with a spend of just £14, but I won the chance to buy centre court tickets in the ballot for this year's Aegon Championships at Queens Tennis Club!! Apologies for the cliche, but it truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity, as I don't know if I'll ever have the chance to go again, so I bit the bullet and forked out.

When you said got 'lucky' I thought you meant something else;)

Sounds like it will be a great treat as you can see everyone warming up for wimbledon and Queen's is tiny. Enjoy:beer:

Shopping done. Craft day (very expensive as bought more than I planned) over. £20 put away for Credit card. £18.55p left for the week. This is not good as I have to get bits of shopping again tomorrow, a birthday present (perhaps I can get OH to buy this) and its my turn to buy lunch on Thursday. I can do this, I can do this.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

Hi challengers! Right I'm pledging £30 this week, and am taking petrol & groceries out of the equation as they are essential and budgeted elsewhere (but I AM going to stick to food buget this week!!!). I hope to stay within £20 but have included an extra £10 "just in case" as want to me be green this week ;)

Just wanted to add by subscibing to this thread and another daily one, I've paid off an extra £50 off of m debt this month! Thank u :D
