Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.action-smiley-033.gif

    Afternoon budgeteers,

I spent too much last week but it is back on the wagon for me. I have £5 in my purse and £20 in my spends account for the week. I intend to take lunch everyday this week so I am hoping for an easy green.

I have updated the first post with results and pledges from last week's thread let me know if I have missed anything.

Welcome to the newbies and the regulars alike.

LilacPixie I read your thread about overspending with interest. Sometimes it can be so hard to stop spending on things when it only seem like £5/£10/£20 and in the grand scheme of things is not that much but it all adds up. I would agree with others that said try and stick to cash and leave the cards at home, this always makes me cut back. Good luck for this week and keep us updated on your progress :D

    hi,

Am backkkkkk!!!! Had a lovely relaxing time away.......... unfortunatly hubby has thrown away all the receipts. But after looking at my bank balance can i declare myself a purple week for last week?? I reckon it was bang on £300 give or take a tenner.

Am doing all next months food shopping tonght with the kind people at ASDA who have given me a £25 credit note on my online account + free delivery after I complained about the last order. So hoping to stay within £75 (so £50 when you take off voucher, this includes nappies). Not counting as another fund but thought I'd add it anyway.

Am going for £40 additional spends next week. £20 of this I am budgeting for DS's storage - any good ideas for toys but baby accessable for the front room?? am debating wicker baskets.

£20 for me which shouldn't be hard as I am only at work 2 days between now and next Tuesday - WOOOP!!!
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
