Vauxhall Meriva 1.7 CDTi. Claimed 56.5mpg (combined) with the following from Vx "The driving performance figures shown are attainable when the vehicle is empty, plus a load of 200 kilograms."
I consistently get 55 -60mpg depending on whether motorway around 65 - 70mph or local rural roads. Very little town/city driving. Aircon on most times except when outside temp is too low for it to operate.0 -
BMW 330Ci Clubsport - Claimed 31mpg combined - Actual 22mpg, although this is mainly town driving and A roads. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0

Would like to see how the new breed of super efficient deisels claimed figures compare to some real life figures.(eg Bluemotions, greenline, efficient dynamics, econetic etc)0

Previous car, 1996/P Ford Mondeo 1.8LX estate (115 hp Zetec engine), did 33 mpg. Current car 2001/51 Ford Mondeo 1.8LX estate (125 hp Duratec engine), 30 mpg. This is on my short urban/rural commute. Nice to know that in 5 years, engine technology has progressed so much I get 10% less miles to the gallon
PS - I'm aware this is not the most scientific test!Skip dipper and proud....0 -

Yup, you're right. Funnily enough, my old Mondeo was written off after being hit by an older gent in a Honda Civic. My Mondeo did not do well at all. Remembering that, I'll not complain again about 3mpg!Skip dipper and proud....0 -

See my post 33 above for Efficient Dynamics....
I used to get just over 50mpg around town when i first had it but then the novelty of having the engine cutting in and out wore out and started to irritate me so just tend to leave the clutch in or turn it off...
Its quite useful at traffic lights when you have a propoer pause, but a complete pain in the !!! when shuffling along in a queue!
I should add that on a motorway run the BMW 118d ticks along nicely at 60+mpg even when making (un)reasonable progress...0 -
Because those are the only figures I had to hand. I've made it clear what I am comparing.
Maybe focae would like to expand on where your figures differ from the urban/combined ones,:question::question::question:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
