Knitwik67 - Have you asked Hypno about her experiences with Hypnotherapy?
FW - Hope your leg isn't too painful, and it clears up quickly. I know what you mean about fitness problems getting in the way of exercise plans, I'm still not fit enough to start the 0 -5k training up again, it's very frustrating. I am going to try some lighter exercises today though.0 -
Firewalker, hope your varicose vein isn't too painful right now, and that your doctor can give you some relief. You're right about what we discuss - I'm in my 50s, and yes, its health and investments! And downsizing, which I've just done
Pickle! Happy 30th!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Good morning. My leg does hurt and the instructions from all websites is: 'CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMEDIATELY'. Now when I see such a thing I do get a bit concerned. So I did phone my surgery - and the response I got is: 'We are all booked and do you really think it hurts so much?' How do they chose the people working in this places; even more importantly how do they train them. But hey, we have FREE health care! Except it is not FREE (out taxes pay the obsene salaries of GPs) and it is not really healtyh care. Anyway, rant over - I am sitting here with my leg propped on pillows and remembering the last days of my pregnancy when it was the same. Managed to do loads of writing - nothing else to do.
I thought you may enjoy this - it is from Paolo Coelho'e blog again and if some are interested you can probably find it.
*********************************
A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light. An angel appeared, showed a large rock in front of his cabin and asked him to push against the rock with all his might.
This the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock.
Nothing happened. And he decided to make it a matter of prayer.
“Lord I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even been able to budge that rock. What is wrong? Why am I failing?”
The angel appeared again :
“My friend, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. And now you come to me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so?”
“Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard.
“Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have.
“You learned the importance of discipline and training,
” This you have done. Now it is my turn, my task.”
And the angel moved the rock, showing to the man a beautiful path ahead.

Hi Money Fritter,
You probably remember what I think about mistakes - they are part of life and there is absolution. So paying for mistakes is probably something we should try not to do but instead move forward and live our lives to the full. Giving to the World is an entirely different matter - each and evryone of us should do as much of this as possible (even if we can do only small acts of kindness).
You are a member of the Matrix I believe? Have you registered on the Forum?

Firewalker, is there a NHS drop in centre nearby, I know my sons tend to use them. Otherwise have another go at the receptionist, we had to push to get an appointment with a new doctor, they started by saying no chance unless we filled in all forms and paperwork, then we could make an appointment, eventually they agreed they'd let us fit in an emergency slot as we were only in the area for the one day. It did take a couple of calls, and really had to stress that it was needed as running out of prescription meds, so needed the appointment.
Hope you manage to get to see a Doctor soon.0 -
ok, I have read about the Matrix, and read some of the posts, but not sure i fully understand it. How does it work Firewalker?0

Firewalker even when you are ill you are helping us. I hope the pain subsides. Even if they are able to make an emergency appointment you should be able to ring the surgery for advice and they maybe able to recommend something to help. My best wishes, sw.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Firewalker wrote: »Good evening Maru,
I was looking again at your answers to the questions. The common elements are animals, research and computers. Can you think of an idea that brings all these together?
Firewalker
Yep, three to four years back I wanted to start a website about animals. Something to promote animal welfare. My idea was to collect stories about different animals and that way give different alternative treating and training methods a platform to talk about their work. However I never did this as I stumbled to focus the idea and find my USP. And also I wasn't clear on how to monetise it (affiliates?, book sales? etc??)
Perhaps after I get December exams done and then my house in order (and then my June exams done) I will throw this to the Matrix to brainstorm. Thank you!!
Could you please pm me the link to the Paolo Coelho'e blog? I loved the story about the pencil and the story about the man and the angel almost got me to tears (and I am sitting in huge open office at the moment so not the best place to burst into tears)
I hope your troubles with your leg is getting better soon. I had very painful shin splints in the summer that stopped me running and was hurting even when walking so I can sympathise with your pain and frustration."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
