You have always said this - I don't know; I just never think that my wiritng is that interesting, really. Or that good. In fact, during the last year I have been desperately try to put in my 10,000 hours. So watch this space.
How are you, kid? Hope you have been keeping well.

Hi DT, the common element through the three is the maths, puzzles organising kind of aspect. Even when I was reading stuff on your thread I though that you will be really good starting a business where you run it - you do the strategy, organising, tasks etc. and other people do the rest. Why don't you try to get some of the Matrix lads organised to programme computer puzzles and games? You can design them and then test them - if you love doing this and can forget about time a bad game has no chance to pass through you really. But you can decide to start thinking about any of the things you forget about.
This is just to make you think really - and breaks away from crafts.

Firewalker you should meet up with DVardysShadow. Between you you will come up with a fantastic book. Would it be possible to have a signed copy one day? And dear Frit can write you a poem for the inscription.
Your thoughts have always kept me going on here. A bright light in a pretty selfish world. Thank you for being such an inspiration and for always being there. kitXAiming for a minimal spend 20220 -

Shock, horror! Did I mention that I have started really disliking spending anything? Well, this entire thing about the building work, floors and decorating is costing loads – but I have manage to keep calm; partly by not engaging with the payments and purchases. Today, however, we had to go to IKEA and get some of the small things, like lights and toilet brushes and the like. We went, we bought, we spend…But it is all very nice.
Panicking about spending on this is completely irrational, though – rationally I do realise that we just put on quite a bit of value on the house and thus have increased our personal wealth (possessions + assets – liabilities = personal wealth). Mmmmm…
To distract myself from the shopping experience I was standing in the middle of IKEA writing on my phone – what I was writing was the exercise I set myself last night. This was a sight and I suspect OH was utterly embarrassed and convinced that he is married to a useless intellectual who breaks down when faced with any practical (or unpleasant) task. This pretty much sums it up, really.
Now I shall move to the outcome of the task.
Things I have always found easy
Reading
Figuring out how things work (technical and social)
Writing
Public talking/performing
Turning things around/thinking outside the box
Forgetting about time
When I read (have missed many trains because of this)
When I am trying to figure out a conundrum (hubby says that I am like a dog with a bone)
When I write
When I watch people
When I teach
Things I have been told I am good at
Talking to people/on a stage
Writing
Seeing things/seeing through things (going to the core of things)
Motivating people
Selling (I was told that I could sell anything)
Organising
This is it. What do you reckon? Any of these might amount to talent?
And the thought for today is:
“A man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis of all human morality.” - Winston Churchill

There are lots of valuable talents there think you will have more of a problem of focussing on one. What makes your heart sing the most?

Reading, writing, analysis and teaching/presenting. How do these amount to something useful?

Sorry there is probably a terribly deep answer in there somewhere I shall leave that for Double Trouble. Firewalker do you realise what you have just posted?:
"...Reading, writing, analysis and teaching/presenting. How do these amount to something useful? FW ..."
It amounts to you Firewalker, you are as good as a person can be. It doesn't get better. Am smiling. You are the only one that doesn't see it. We all do.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I am not sure about a deep answer but I do agree that what makes your heart sing already describes you - obviously you want to expand on what you already do -
my suggestion not very radical I'm afraid
reading - research something you are passionate about
teaching/presenting - do a lecture tour on it
writing - produce a book
or of course produce the book first and then do the lecture tour:D
From what I have read you are more than capable of doing that as long as you believe in yourself

A very brief message from an Oxford hotel. What a day I had!
This morning tried to print out my tickets (pre-booked on the treain line.com) but the site kept crashing. In my naivity decided that I could print the tickets out at the station - fat chance. Phoned the train line - a young man with nice Welsh accent kept saying 'Madam you have to go to the nearest internet caffee'.
What internet caffee? I was at Stockport station. Then run to Stockport Central Library (there are computers and printers and the guys at the station are asked to send mugs like me there). A nice lady started repeating that to use the computers I have to join the library and asking me for an utility bill. Do you take your utility bills with you when trying to catch a train I am asking?
Anyway, after all this I went back to the station and bought a new ticket - having asked for the cheapest ticket to Oxford. On the train it turn out that I have been sold a Virgin ticket for a Cross country train. At this point I just looked at the lady checking the tickets and said that this is it - I can't do this any more; and showed her my receipt for the tickets I could not use etc. She let me stay. Oh, and the train was 45 minutes late.
Bottom line - the Universe owes me big time and I hope the pay back is tomorrow at 12.05; it should be manifesting itself as a lecture to remember for years to come and loads more research on the matter.
Have to go to bed now. Good night.
