Hi FW - Sorry if we are highjacking the thread, but this need to be out there.
SW - I had an email about this yesterday morning, and signed the petition. I also made a small donation to the fighting fund at 38 degrees. Not sure how much a fiver will help! I think that people need to make their voice heard, and I have sent an email to my MP voicing my opposition to this bill going through today. It's a long time till the next election.
Hope your virus is a bit better today, positive thoughts sent to you and all who need them.Sealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21

Not hijacking at all. We have signed and put a small donation as well - this is important.

Sorry guys, bad news I am afraid; the bill continues through the chanels. The only thing we can do is to continue fighting. My guess is that this will be a fight we will loose - but remember Savingwannabe's hero from To Kill a Mocking Bird? He told his children that the fact that someone 'licked' you (beat you up) a century ago doesn't mean that you should stop fighting and trying to change things!
Otherwise, todau was fine here; 1354 words written for the paper (and what words these are), all else on to do list done (well, I listen to Tim and have short to do lists) and getting ready for tomorrow - an exceptional, wonderful day on which I'll have to continue writing but also find time for a celebration.
Now a bit of movie, I think.

For anybody interested here is a link to the bill on the UK Parliament website. Todays proceedings are not on there yet but you can read all of the comments from yesterday if you click on the link under last event

I had signed the petition. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
I don't think they think we're stupid at all. If they did, they'd have put it in their manifesto's and let us vote on it.
Can't work out their game though. P...ing off people who believe in the NHS, women in their 50's, anyone with childcare needs. They must think we're going to suddenly have collective amnesia in 4 years time.
Sorry FW for hijacking your thread.

FW, sorry if I missed something. what are you celebrating. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Btw, there is research that shows that women are the main conservative voters; if it were not for women the Torries would have not been voted in after WWII. If I were around at the beginning of the last century I would have been a Safragette. This research makes me scream: either wake up, sisters, or they should take the vote back!
Sorry, got it out.
Tomorrow is my birthday, Moo. I still love my birthdays.
