Yesterday I never got enough energy to write more; in fact it was a highly disappointing day. Managed to get very little done although both tasks that were completed were ‘critical’ so at least I did not just keep busy. Then decided to go for a run – and twenty minutes later came back home almost in tears. I simply couldn’t. So last night we went to bed early, slept soundly and today felt better; still tired but certainly better.
Hard to believe, I know, but today I did some gardening. Nothing very fancy – cut the grass, cleaned wound a bit. There is always a first – took me about 20 years to get to cut the grass. So full of myself and the result that suggested to my sister that we can go live in the village where our land is and become farmers. She has some interesting crops in mind; let say that were we to decide to grow this particular crop we will need high walls, guard dogs and big men with rifles. Tempting (will save me worrying about pension) but may be we’ll give it a miss – not a life for a philosopher, a midwife and a computer geek to lead.
While I had my adventures in the garden OH was sorting out the garage. This is mostly de-cluttered again and the table tennis season is on. Altogether a good Saturday!
I have not posted a thought for the day for sometime but here is something that caught my eye:

Glad you enjoyed the gardening
Don't get too disheartened by the run - sometimes it just doesn't work, and given your travel disruption and therefore disruption to routine and body clock you probably need to take things easy until you're recovered - start gently and build up again. Don't push yourself if it doesn't feel right. Sometimes you just need to potter and relax.0 -
This morning I was peacefully asleep at 8.30 when the bedroom door opened with a flourish and my Little Boy appeared in the frame carrying a tray with my breakfast – toast with chocolate spread and a glass of water. This marked the beginning of Mother’s Day celebrations in the Firewalker house. Then we read a bit more of the Subtle Knife (which we both like) and now are with our own obsessions – I am writing here and he is watching a bit of TV.
It is glorious day outside – sunny and warm, the smell of Spring all around and of course a bit of hay fever as well. But still we will go out for a long walk later – we all need it and it is a sacrilege not to do it.
I have also decided that today, being the first day of the rest of my life, will be the day when all rubbish scoffing is going to stop, and training is going to resume. Last night I dreamt that I finished a marathon and it felt so good; Chester here we come. This time I am really going to have to become skinny, mean running machine. To do this I am going to: a) start a thread on the other side for support immediately; and b) do some research on weight management. It cannot be that hard after all.
Enjoy the weather and speak tonight.

Thanks Tricia for your great post above. I have been feeling very tired this past week. And your post made some sense to me, I think it is a mixture of things. I am disenchanted and disillusioned with work. I am starting a new project and do not have a clue what I am doing! The project manager has decided to ignore the project due to falling out with another manager, my deputy manager (by title only - another disgust at my stupid workplace) has lots of knowledge of new project but is refusing to share with us! His team who need to know! That is frustrating and wearing me out. My Manager keeps changing the goal posts of work I have to do, and that is annoying me. I was never trained properly when I came to this company and it is now showing with my lack of knowledge on certain aspects. Then our team of Assessors do not take me seriously when I tell them things because they all bow down to our incompetent deputy manager and only listen to him! this is the man who has an item to do on his to do list for 2 weeks that has nothing to do with him! It is something he should have told me about immediately and I could have dealt with!
anyway, I have put on lots of weight, through my own fault, comfort eating! and realised this week when out with DS, it needs to stop and I need to lose weight. I had to say to him, Mummy is too big to sit down there with you. (I am and would have got stuck!) So time to be a real mummy to DS!
Thanks for your Diary, Firewalker, it gives me inspiration when I am not too tired to digest it and WILL do something about it!0 -

Excellent, FW! You were clearing the spaces, physical and metaphysical, for more energy to flow in ....

I was in the garden yesterday too, clearing ivy that grows just opposite my back door - I know that if I don't get it cleared, I won't want to go out into the garden, and that would be a shame. But my course of action right now to improve my life: my 2nd cup of coffee for the day, and the chocolate brownie I bought while out shopping :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
After a promising start my day deteriorated fast to end being completely horrid. Little Boy and I had a big argument - mainly because he hardly ever hears ort does what I ask him to. And today it was too much.
Am I destroying both of us? Gosh I am feeling so bad - have the feeling that my heart is going to break.

((((((((((((((Firewalker)))))))))))))))))) - my DS is 3 and never listens to me. Even when I speak to him, and ask him to give me eye contact, he can't do it. I think it is a boy thing, they never want to listen and never do anything you tell them to do.0

FW hope you don't mind me calling you that. Wow you have been writing such inspriational posts and I have been impressed by the responses of others to those posts too. Well done
As for DS BE KIND TO YOURSELF. It was just one arguement when you were in your case tired and his case over excited. You will make up. Yes boys can be annoying oiks at times. And some times you have to NOT bite your tongue...
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I gave such a b*llocing to DD last week and would you know what, she was like an angel the rest of the week. So sometimes they do need to be told. But on the other hand she then got lots of praise, hugs and kisses."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
