Hello, long time reader, first time poster.

We're FTBs in a similar situation. Viewed a place 27th March, had an offer accepted on the 29th. Very excited to be moving.

We've gone through a broker (London & Country) for our mortgage. They've got us a mortgage from Platform (part of the Co-op I think) which they applied for on Wednesday.

How long does it generally take for a mortgage to be approved? We've got a 25% deposit so it shouldn't be too risky for them.

This forum is brilliant by the way. I can't believe it's taken me so long to post.

My mortgage application took about a month.

Mine took 25 days. Repo house so was set a deadline of 4 weeks. Couple of hiccups on the way, but was so glad when it was done!

Congratulations Pammy! Hope you're really happy in your new home.

As I posted earlier, my offer was accepted early December... we're hoping to exchange next week and complete 16th July but I'll believe that when it happens! Had to reapply for the mortgage (got an even better deal though) and the delay will have saved me £2k on stamp duty so there has been an up-side.
