Where's the best place to buy Orijen?
I tend to buy from Zooplus - they are not necessarily always the cheapest but you can usually find a voucher code which lowers the price.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -

I'm pretty sure when the package says 'animal derivatives' it means all the left over crap, not the decent stuff.Sigless0 -

Animal derivatives listed as an ingredient is as dodgy as it sounds. It's the leftovers. Meat meal (chicken meal for example) must be suitable for human consumption. It's the kind of stuff that ends up in chicken nuggets and suchlike.0 -

It's necessary for kibbles to have something starchy in there to hold it all together - if they don't use grains (like rice or maize) then they need something else.
We just got our first kitten and I'm heavily leaning towards Purely wet and dry in combination. He loves it too, he was on Go Cat when we picked him up and I'm mixing the two different brands to get him used to Purely but he just picks through it and leaves all the Go Cat bits. So funny!0 -
Stefficook wrote: »Oh and the other thing i meant to say!! When I refer to "meat/fish" content, that's pure fish or meat, not animal derivatives, which a lot of them say maybe 60% meat or meat derivatives. That's not meat, it's bits of 'meat' that are left over (chicken feet etc...) but not pure meat. Again not to put a downer on a bargain, but i'd say you usualy get what you pay for, if it's super cheap, the ingredients may not be all they seem. I understand some people can't afford to buy stuff that is expensive for the sake of more meat, but for those who want to get the best they can for their pets, I just wanted to point it out.
as well as bones etc! It's the additives that are the real thing to look out for0 -
Rita rabbit - I know its really sad when so may people just don't care, but just cos it's so cheap they get it! I know not everyone can afford it but those who can should at least think about it!! I never knew about those other foods you listed, which is why we get Burns, they seem healthy on it, like it enough, but might have a look for some of those others see how well they go down if they're better
Cheers for the heads up
I find it awful how companies, especially Iams, who advertise so strongly for being great for animals, yet the things they do are so sickening!!0 -

It was only £6.39 for 1.5kg which should last for ages! Or if he wont eat it then it's not too much to have spent.
