  • Hi everybody
Just like to say that I'm new here and decided to go for this offer, got accepted straight away, AE rang and confirmed everything, Card arrived in post, used it for a total of £7.56, registered on AE website to see my statement and when you click on card rewards it says I got 5008 points which is the 5000 for opening account and 8 for my 1st and last spend !!!!

Thanks to the original poster for getting me the points !!!!!
  • Hello, am total newbie, this is my first post!

I'm trying to apply for the Nectar Amex card, and the postcode part won't work - it wants a six (three plus three) digit postcode, and I live in a part of London with a four plus three digit postcode. Has anyone else had this problem?

I've looked all over the site, but can't find anywhere to email or contact them about this.

Hi London Lassie. I had the same thing happening to me when I applied this afternoon, but found that if I did not leave a gap in the middle of the postcode then it solved the problem (ie instead of entering eg SE23 2XX, I entered SE232XX)

    Hope this helps.

Seem to remember quite a lot of people saying last time that amex tried to give them less than the points offered.Try to keep some proof of the original offer,as amex always have lots of different offers on at any one time.Adams kids no longer listed on nectar website

I just had a phone call from a Katie @ Amex informing me that my application has been accepted and welcoming me to the fold. Was a bit surprised, to be honest, as I've never had a call like that. And she asked me a load of questions like why had I applied for it, how much was I planning to spend on it, and how often/much would I be paying off. Felt uncomfortable about answering these honestly so was a bit vague.

Still kicking myself that I didn't think to go through Quidco.

Glad you mentioned this Steveeeee. I applied for this card last week - I hope I don't get this type of phone call, but if I do, well at least now that i've seen your note I'll be able to prepare some sensible answers ;) (I hate being caught unprepared  )

I thought you had to use a specific url for the Nectar points offer, i.e. that applying through Quidco wouldn't work?

Did not get any acknowledgement from Amex after I applied (eg no e-mail etc) but received PIN a week later and card 2 days after that so the whole process took 10 days.
