I need some advice ladies! OH was called up today and is basically being headhunted for a job that will pay 12k more. The only thing is that it is in Cambridge and we are in Reading.

As our ultimate goal is to move to Spain and we have only been in Reading for 6 months I think he should go for the job cos we can pay off our debts quickly and start to ovepay our mortgage (therby saving a deposit for a place in Spain).

The other thing is that I would not have to return to work and could spend more time with Max, although I have seen an ideal 2 day week job in Cambridge that would be very interesting and means I get to spend 5 days a week with Max.

What do you all think? Are we mad for even considering it? I have spent the last 6 months making a big effort to make friends and am starting to make good headway there. I am quite good at making friends though and think it is much easier with a baby.

Like you say its much easier with a baby so if you're gonna do it at any time now is more ideal...

12k more is a huge amount, its not like we're just talking 2-3k!

I'd do it but then Im someone who moved to the other end of the country just.... because LOL

It's a lot of money and will get you where you want to be quicker, I'd do it in your position! Good luck!

How are you CAFC? Do you have a new diary or are you just hanging with the pregnant ppl?

mostly just hanging out with the preggers lot....

theres no point me having a diary as my debt situation is just..... well put it this way its not being handled well........

nowadays im just loitering with intent LOL

Thanks to both of you for the encouragement. Myself and OH are going to have a serious chat tonight and list the pros and cons of moving. At this stage it is only an approach and he might not even get the job but the money is so tempting!

I would definitely consider moving, maybe he can go for an interview and then see if he gets the job, I would consider moving for that much more money and if it helps to clear the debts quicker that is even better.
