Hi Doodledo
Nice to see you here, that is a good aim for 2010.
I'm going to try and save a bit up even though I still have £20k worth of debt left, at least I am 4 credit cards less than I was a couple of weeks ago. I put £500 in my Post Office ISA but will probably open another one for this tax year with a better rate, I only had £2 in mine until I put the £500 in there so won't get much interest but maybe I can transfer it into a new one.
I also opened an ING Direct savings account, apparently you can have a few and call them a name ie. 'Holiday Fund' for one, 'Christmas' for another or something like that, am still waiting for some stuff to come through.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

Yes it was a relief to get rid of 4 of them, the interest on the 4 a month was more than the interest on my MBNA (just) so decided to get rid of the 4 smaller ones and keep the one bigger one, although that is at 23.9% and have about £6k+ on it so need to do a transfer to something else for more than 6 months though.
Just need to get used to the other 4 statements coming in and knowing when I need the money by to pay them, I'm doing all my PAD's to MBNA to try and get it down quicker. The other 3 I have are at low rates 6.9% until paid off, 7.9% until paid off and 0% for another 10.5 months.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

Another £20 off as I am using a present from my present stash, so the cash I would have spent is going off the credit cardTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Isn't it great when you have a present already, DD2 had a party last weekend and I had something that I bought in the Sainsbury's sale last year.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Hi Ladies!
Sorry I've been AWOL. I did notice we've started another thread (which I think was a fantastic idea) and I thought I'd subscribed to it, but had to re-find it today.
I'm still bit 'lost' since the split up, and have kind of just been taking it easy and kept myself occupied, but there are lot of debt related issues in my mind that I'll come to talk to you later about.
Good luck to us all for 2010! Let's make it count!DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0
