It's steady, no overpayments for ages though. Money's tight again and need to claw back as have spent extra. Need to adjust my budget on pay day when I know how much I get.

Need to do a 'to do list' as well. Been slacking a lot and just having fun. Not good! ;):o

Nothing wrong with having fun :)

It sounds like things are going so well for you and your BF. That is brill. Have you heard anymore from your ex?

You are so close to being under 8k. That is amazing. It doesn't seem so long ago that you were 13k so give yourself a pat on the back. You will soon be debt free :)

Yeah, things are going well. I do still sometimes struggle with his age, but I'm going to forget about that now. I don't know what future will bring, so have decided just to enjoy it, but start building my own future (job wise) in the meantime.

Yes, spoken and texted my ex. He's just gone on holiday, think things are not as good as he'd like, but he'll get through. Hope one day we can be mates and meet up socially. He's a good guy really.

The annoying thing about the debt is, that I've probably paid double that's come off the sig. Damn interest!

The interest is a killer alright - I don't know I how much I have paid over the years. I dread to think :( Still, at least we won't get into this type of debt again - we have learnt our lesson. Hence me not going on any major holidays this year (when in past years I would have stuck it on the credit card!)

Glad things are going well. Is he very young? My sister (28) married her toyboy last week (25). I know there isn't that much of a gap but he proposed to her at the tender age of 24 and they bought a house when he was 22. Some guys are more mature than others. Hope this is making sense!

I'm 31, he's 24. He's mature though, that's not the problem and I really do like him and find we're very suitable (not sure if that means I'm very immature or he's very mature...???). Just think people change a lot between 25-30. He's still young enough to do whatever he likes and not needing to think about the consequences too much. He graduated last year from mechanical engineering course and is now on a graduate trainee scheme, but wants to find a better place and wants to get into nuclear industry.

I want to settle down (not with kids or anything like that though, but to have a steady relationship I can rely on). I also find that his life is very organised and I'm doing a dead end job in an office :( without needing to use my brain and getting paid peanuts. And there's the looming possibility he'll move to Bristol or somewhere else if he doesn't get a job there. And we've only been together less than 2 months so I don't feel I can really have 'that' conversation with him yet.

There isn't that much of an age difference. I would say take it as it comes and when/if he does get a job elsewhere then you can have that conversation.

Life takes us by surprise so who knows where you will be and what type of job you will be doing this time next year :)

Too true. But I always think way, way ahead. Not that I live like that but I can just always see the 'problems' ahead.

But I shall just enjoy it atm. How are you doing anyway?

    Hi Doodles,

Sorry haven't been on this thread much. I need to get back on the debt wagon although it is hard when I am on this rubbish maternity pay!

Max is doing very well. He is rolling over now (with his clothes on, before that it was naked, lol!!!). He is a great little baby though :)

Moneywise - I have paid £200 off my debts. So slow but at least it is going down rather than going up like it was a few months ago. We are having a very quiet month this month to try and pay off a bit more.

I hope we can resurrect this thread a bit, as I find it so motivating!
