If you think about it speed is a factor in every road accident 'cus if everyone was stationary there would never be any accidents. Still 'making good progress' is perfectly acceptable in my opinion as people getting on with it don't generally annoy me where as 45 MPH everywhere gimps really gets on my nerves.Nothing to see here, move along.0

Careful here, need to differentiate between "speeding" and "excess speed for the conditions"
"speeding" is exceeding an arbitrary number that some jobsworth at the local council or highways agency (who may or may not hold a driving licence) has determined should be painted onto a sign at the side of the road. This number generally stays fixed for fairly long stretches.
"excess speed for the conditions" is exceeding the maximum safe speed for that particular stretch of road, in the current weather conditions, for that particular combination of driver and vehicle. This number can vary constantly as the road twists and turns, and the weather changes and the driver becomes more or less alert, chances are it will be different for different cars too.
Exceeding one is illegal, exceeding the other is dangerous.
The problem lies when there is a massive discrepancy between the two numbers
If the maximum safe speed is significantly lower than the speed limit (eg. fog, clapped out vehicle with bald tyres, incompetent driver etc.) and the driver has swallowed the government line that sticking to the speed limit is the be-all and end-all of road safety then that's an accident waiting to happen.
Likewise, if it's the other way around a driver is liable to become bored and distracted and that too is an accident waiting to happen.
Sadly, long gone are the days when the limits were set by traffic engineers with an aim to be very close to the maximum safe speed for 85% of the population, nowadays they're mainly set by politicians and NIMBYs.0 -

Definition of speeding is "driving faster than is allowed in a particular area" Im not sure what the speed limits are on the Malaysian circuit are, but i didnt see many Gatsos, though i do think that they have a speed limit in the pit lane for safety reasons.0
