I don't think anyone has yet mentioned the 5% fixed Regular Saver account (12 month term, max. £300 per month) which can be opened by FD 1st Account customers.0

Very true - I opened one 3 months ago. At that time it did not appear in the MSE best buy list! Has it now made an appearance?
The 5% gross is better than any ISA for standard rate tax payers, so I use my 3% 1stDirect ISA from 2009/2010 to drip feed the Regular Saver0 -
The 7% regular saver ISA is even better
. I opened mine last April, but it has long been closed now. I'm hoping there will be another issue of it launched this year.
The only bad things about First Direct that I can think of are a) credit card statements are only available online for 3 months, and b) the debit and credit cards are very similar in design, and I have used the wrong one more than once.0 -
I have been with FD for 15yrs now and whilst I have nothing but praise for the banking service, and wouldn't hesitate to take out my next mortgage with them (subject to the rate of course), I wouldn't bother with the cc.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

It was a sensible question! - My current bank 'Cahoot' don't post out statements, you need to print them off yourself.
