No DM would give an adverse decision on the situation you describe

If your pattern of availability is mon-fri you will not receive a sanction for refusing employment where sat-sun is required attendance.

My 2 sons (I have 7 children) used to do Karate at weekends. They loved it.

Then we bought a holiday home. I own and run my own company so work long hours (and still some weekend work and 24/7 on-call) so weekends as a family are very important.

The kids were upset to leave their karate lessons, and I got the "moody" looks and moods from them.

But they began to see and enjoy our weekends together at the coast as a family.

I saw how important it was to them to do Karate, so I spoke to the teacher about it. He said that he had many requests for a "mid week" lesson, and my conversation with him spurred him on to arrange one.

Now they go midweek, we go away weekends, everyones happy.

I guess my point is, whats more important? Have you explored every opportunity? Is there another class you can attend? Is there another teacher you can join?

That was the same argument I got from my 7 and 11 year old.

It does sound like this hobby is a bigger deal to you than finding a job.

The question is whether the OP will be able to limit their availability to weekdays only at his thirteen week review, not whether he is ok to turn down a job which falls outside his agreement.

In my experience, amateur sporting commitments will not be good enough reason to allow this. The only case I know of where sport was allowed to be a reason for limiting availability is where the young woman was at such a level that they may have future professional opportunities in that field.

OP, to get an individual decision you need to go to your review and see what they say. No one here can give you a definitive answer.
    Gone ... or have I?

    :D what?

What he's going to get up to at weekends is not relevant
