N900 discontinued?
Comments
-
After being misinformed by customer services & retentions repeatedly, via 191 from my handset, as to weather vodafone are discontinuing the n900, & asking for a PAC code, was approached (and lied too) by rentions to stay with vodafone & told still stock it & have in stock the n900. Upgrade sorted (I thought) price plan agreed;
18 months
Nokia n900
900 mins
unlimited txt (of which I don't use many)
unlimited landline calls
500mb internet
after retentions failing to process upgrade, reapplying order, the phone arrived today, BUT handset is nearly new n900, not a new one, (which was not mention when upgrading) after having issues with vodafone's reconditioned phones in the past, not best pleased, will return it Monday, but 191 told me now is discontinued, have sent email to voda web team to see if they can honor/match this, awaiting a reply

Hi Espi,
I did receive a reply (below), but nothing from paul but holly?
it hasn't addressed the situation, if any thing it's escalating, had yet another nearly new n900 delivered (from the 1st attempt to upgrade on Thursday, have been told it's a computer/ and courier !!!! up), so I now am waiting for the returns bags for them.
I'll reply later with a better description later on, I just wanted to let you know this situation isn't sort yet.
Cheers M
"Hi M,
I'm sorry to hear you feeling this way and I hope you don't end up leaving us because of this.
I can confirm that officially we don't stock the N900 anymore but I don't blame you for expecting a brand new handset.
Nearly new means someone has returned the handset in the first couple of days probably because they didn't like the model not because it's faulty in anyway. If you have tested the phone over the weekend I hope you've grown to like it. If not return your phone on Monday and our Web Relations sales team can see what they can do.
We have a couple of new N900's left in our own stock allocation but once these are gone we won't be getting anymore so the sooner you can return the phone and commit to an upgrade with us the better as these will be sold on a first come first served basis.
Let me know when the return has been processed and if we still have an N900 then you are more than welcome to have it.
Thanks
Holly

Hi mikee7,
Thanks for letting me know that you've received this reply. Holly's also a member of this team, but she doesn't look a thing like Paul. Not sure why i got so confused about that!
I'm sorry to hear that the situation has escalated and I would like to help you further. Could you let me know a little more about the issues that you are facing by contacting me via Web Relations Team - Vodafone UK . (When contacting, please quote the code WRT135 in the subject line. In the main message body, please include a link to this thread and your user name.)
If it would be easier for us to call you, please pop a contact number into the email and we can get the situation recitified for you over the phone.
I'm still postive that we can help you with this and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
All the best,
Espi

Not even in the same market as the N900. N8 will run the closed source sybian3 where N900 is a open source Maemo (Lunix) device. Maemo is more a mini PC in your pocket.0
