Come on guys. This truly is an absolutely awful thread now.

    I agree

BUT my favourite bit was where someone forgot which name they were using - and answered under another name - and then went back to the other one they have been using throughout the whole thread. :D

Thanks for pointing this out. The location is very similar to a location I grew up in, if anything a little nicer. It has a lovely little market town about 10 mins down the road, and is only 20 mins away from 2 large towns. Tesco extra is 15 mins away and we already do home delivery.

Ok good stuff. Maybe it's not as isolated as I was fearing. The fact you could have a sort of separate accommodation with it (granny annexe / bungalow or whatever) is a good positive imo, for future options. Such as when your kids grow up, they can have a half-independent space of their own.

Yeah, I am buying, at significant Below market value. you wouldnt get a sheet of single ply tissue paper between my @!!!! cheeks, do you think I am going to get nailed over the singlemost important financial transaction in my life?

I do have issues with the 'below market value' thing, which has been discussed before. If it's a non-relative and non-friend selling it to you, why would they sell it at substantially lower than they can achieve on the market, on Rightmove or in auction of whatever? I'd suspect you're buying it at current market value, as market conditions exist at this moment in time.

No it's not, it's brilliant. It's like when there's a fight during a football game and the commentators say something like, "this ruins it as a spectacle - no one wants to see this." Complete rubbish, everyone loves to see a fight during a football game.

They are when you manage to buy 30% below original asking. :rotfl:

I remember the @%$£ I got for buying at 27% below actual sold price (not asking) 19 months ago. Shame you missed the really cheap trackers though.;)

It is a shame Really I grant you that. On a tracker with HSBC, 2% over base, nowhere near as good I am sure, but still content. Thing is, THIS house wasnt for sale... Its perfect.

As I say, I expect prices to fall further. For what we are getting for the money, I can secure the family future now and get on living our lives.

Good luck with the move and enjoy the low rates to get it paid down fast.

Glad you have found some where you like.
Even though I have disagreed with some of your posts I have no axe to grind.

    Good luck and congratulations.
