Its a dodgy term to put in - presumably if you swap (i.e. exchange it or something via mobiles.) the phone for some reason, you could potentially end up losing the cashback. I have not been aware of it before with any retailer (will have to check though).

Where it would sound reasonable to have such a clause would be if you got a low grade phone and then started using an iphone or something with your tariff. But then how would they know you changed the phone unless you tell them? There are many valid reasons for not using the handset that comes with a phone, such as having a better handset already. I regularly swap phones to use with my contract sims.

    Oh hang on.

"You do not remain on the original tariff with the original handset and number (or ported)."

That's the term you are looking at?

Thats a reason why they might decline the cashback if you change tariff. As I said before, they will not know about what handset you use unless you tell them. Its still dodgy to put in the words "original handset" - but its really referring to change in tariff as being the reason to decline a cashback. The bills you send in will not tell them what handset you are using.

You do need to clarify with mobiles about the number port though mid contract. I would want it in writing.
  • thats the term m8 1st time ive ever seen it on a mobile site. i agree they should not know what fone u have but why include this junk. no wonder they get abuse. still waiting for mobiles to reply to a email and wont take out any deal b4 they confrim. might try and see if the deal is on with a less dodgy company.lol:D

Don't worry about it. It's in case you change the deal/phone/tariff. They also have a spelling mistake on their website; its another example of bad writing rather than anything to concern yourself about provided to stick to the deal throughout the term of the contract and don't change it.
