There is just a blue card with RBS one says servicecard on the front, the full auth says nothing.

Think my Lloyds one is an offline card after all. Used it in Tescos on Friday, & they had to swipe it because the chip & pin machine was broke - it still hasn't come out of the account.

I am not so sure as my Barclays Connect card on my Basic account works at Pay@Pump it authorises £1 and I can fill up with £100, yet this card should be full auth ?.

But the terminal will decide what to do anyway.

The card might be authorised for £1 nominal (L&S Check) but then forced through for the final value. It might be a 'full auth' card but strangely enough that might not always happen!
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!

True, I have a full auth card with Coventry BS, and it works at P@Pump no problems. I'm going to test it out on a plane to see if it works.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was researching LloydsTSB online/offline debit cards.

I have recently opened a LloydsTSB Classic current account and was sent a visa debit card starting 4921. I've used this today at Asda pay@pump and it went through OK.

I've just checked my account via online banking and the amount hasn't been reserved yet so it must definitely be an offline auth card.

    The AID is 31010.

I would be happy to purchase a card reader if everyone were willing to send their debit cards (along with PIN to be on the safe side) to me to be checked. One swipe through the reader and you will receive your answer along with the card in the post within 7 days. Best of all I would do it totally for free!
  • lol banks give free card readers
if i put my natwest card in the card reader it will come up as visa auth etc..
4921 does work in pay @ pump but it is true as debit cards are assigned different statuses even if first 4 numbers same (e.g. nationwide and natwest both use 4659)
