For the price of a punnet of strawberries I'll take whatever I get from these as a bonus.
i reported mine arrived and looked sorry for them self - however got to say apart from one/two the others are definatly on the up and new green on them - so not too bad for a punnet price0 -
11 of mine perked up and now growing new leaves. However one of them was very small when I got it and looked dead, unfortunately it hasnt perked up despite having then now around 3 weeks
edit the other one now has perked up just took a long time unlike the rest, it had to grow all new shoots unlike the others although I did trim some of the dead looking leaves and those long things that went to mother plant0 -
People who bought these, are you letting them flower / fruit this year or not? Don't know whether to let mine or cut the flowers off to let the roots develop a bit better...0

Hi MORPH3US, I bought some and they are coming along nicely. I did read it's best not to let them fruit in the first year, but it seems such a shame! I think I might be tempted to let them go their own way and see what I get from them! Unless I experiment and let 6 of them fruit and the other 6 not! Mine wasn't to bad as soon as they came I put them in a strawberry planter along with some compost
They will perk up
I keep them watered as I believe these type of planters dry out quickly
I would cut of the dead leaves. Also one or two seem to have the crowns too high above the soil.Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).

Thanks cootambear I did lower a couple of them before you posted as I found out they need to be just under the soil, it isnt very deep the pockets
I got some more now in some troths, I am hoping I get some fruit I cant wait for them, I dont want to wait next year for first crop0 -
There are no flowers on any of my 12 plants but there are loads of leaves.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Out of the 24 plants I received I lost the smallest one but all the others are doing really well. They are still in pots in the greenhouse and I checked the roots last night and all those that have flowers coming (almost all of them actually) have really good roots so I'm going to leave mine to fruit and see what happens.0
