I have always shopped at Currys. However 10 days ago I promiced my old mother that I had ordered her a new TV from CURRYS online and that it would be delivered today. She looked at bare walls for 10 days and then stayed in all day today for the promiced delivery. She is now in tears because of this email I have just received fron CURRYS
Thank you for your recent order C000694751 with Currys.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept your order. We are sorry for
any
inconvenience that this may cause and hope that you will place an
alternative
order with us.
Am I alone in having received such shoddy treatment from CURRYS ?

We bought a Toshiba TV from Curry's a while ago. After it warmed up the picture started to roll. Got in touch with Curry's who agreed to send engineer. Took day off work, engineer didn't turn up. Phoned Curry's, who said I wasn't in. Yes I was, and they argued with me ! Anyhow, finally got engineer out. Parts needed so I'll be in touch, bye bye. Week later, called Curry's. Still waiting for spare part. They would call Toshiba and get back to me. Did they heck. Called them three times more. Still waiting for spare parts. Finally out of frustration phoned Toshiba. Yes it's a well known problem, all models were recalled months ago. Can i get a spare ? No need, it's simply a matter of adding a small lump of solder. Get back to Curry's. No that's wrong, we need a spare part. In the end I threatened to take the TV back and dump it at the front door of their store. Finally, manage to get engineer out. He added a lump of solder. Job done. Turns out the spare part excuse is used when they haven't got enough engineers.
I will never ever buy anything from the Dixon's group of companies.Every silver lining has a cloud...

After 4 days or so of telling Currys where they can stick their feeble automated apologies, my old mother and I visited our local COMET store this afternoon and purchased a new television. Upon reurning home, I had an answer machine message from CURRYS home delivery stating that my goods are being delivered tomorrow. I checked my bank account and CURRYS have taken the price of the TV ( which they told me 3 days ago, that they were unable to supply ) from my account. I have sent Currys 3 emails venting my displeasure and demanding that they return my money to my account. However my Mother and I are currently both a bag-of-nerves worrying about having 2 brand new televisions and how can we possibly afford them.
I am absolutely appalled that such a large British company has acted in the way CURRYS have towards my family.

I had a problem with Currys giving me the runaround about 5 years ago (long long story) and they continually kept trying to fob me off. In the end, I wrote a very stern letter to the manager of the store and threatened to withdraw all my compnaies investments in the Dixons Group (I was a fund manager for a major stockbroking firm) and write to all the major shareholders, I sent carbon copies of this letter to the area manager, regional manager and the managing director. Four days later, I got a grovelling apology promising to rectify the problem, huge bunch of flowers and £100 in gift vouchers! To this day, I still refuse to put any custom in the direction of Currys.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

..If the TV turns up tomorrow refuse delivery!! Do not sign anything unless you clearly write that you have refused delivery and give the reason why. Get a copy if you can. Contact their customer service and advise them that you are refusing delivery as you were told that the order was not accepted and you have purchased elsewhere. Demand an immediate refund of your payment and if they don't that you will take legal action. Contact your credit card company and advise them of the situation. Keep a note of everything that you do and copies of all emails. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0

30 hours since we refused to accept delivery of the television. No reply to my 3 emails to CURRYS WEB SALES demanding that my dissatisfaction be brought to the attention of someone higher up than the yoppers who reply to emails, and that my £147 be put back into my account.

4 emails received from Currys today, all basically saying that my porblem can't be resolved by email due to the Data Protection Act. I had no option but to phone ( at my expense ) the number they provided. The employee ( Pat ) assures me that my £147 will be re-credited to my account within 4 working days.

Craig, I think you've done all that you can under the circumstances and hope that you get the refund within the 4 days. If not, I would call again and not hang up until you have spoken to someone as high up as you can go in the call centre. Good luck!!There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0

I will never shop at curry's again ....ever!!! I purchased a tumble dryer approx 4 yrs ago from them, it was on display as an end of line product and had been reduced.
1 day later the thing broke down. when i looked closer at the dryer i found a sticker attached to the back saying 'faulty goods' and it had been repaired! at first we had a problem as they would only give credit, then I kicked up a fuss and ended up having a full refund.

Well, 4 banking days have passed since my promiced refund from CURRYS, and yes, you've guessed it, no refund. Yet again, I have had to phone, at my expense, their number. Their employee, Mark, tells me that my "case" has been passed to Head Office.
Can anybody advise me re. the address of Head Office as I need to speak to a grinder ?

This is what happened to me recently, I am claiming 2 days lost wage and the cost for 8 telephone calls also I want to know why I have not received the refund for delivery as promised by the manager of the store.
I paid for delivery of a Fridge/Freezer and scraping of old Fridge to happen Tuesday 25th January 2005 this did not happen as the deliverers would not carry the goods up the stairs ( the stairs they knew of as it was on there delivery sheet and my copy also ) they told me that it would be taken away and redelivered Friday 28 January 2005 as it required the use of a Stair Climber , two men delivered it Friday with out a Stair Climber – they carried up by hand.
