You say the only reason you don't want to move in is because it will put your relationship under strain, so why not just claim the tax credits/benefits as you two being a couple but not move in?
You don't have to be living with her to contribute to the household bills.

By your own reckoning you don't live together because you don't get on but you still see each other everyday? Strange?

You have a child together, you are a couple!

Because thats the complete opposite on what they're asking on the form. They're asking if im living with her as a couple but im not. Why would i want to start having to pay HER bills when i only stay over on the weekend?

Cant people have girlfriends and boyfriends over on the weekend without being classed as living together?

I dont want to sound rude but once again 'COUPLE' and living together as husband and wife are completely different. They want to know if we are living together as husband and wife and we are not. Just because you are a couple it doesnt mean you're living together. You're saying that because we are seeing eachother and im going there on the weekends that we are a couple.

During the tuesday, thursday and friday we see eachother about 2 hours a day and the wednesday about 4-5 hours.

If i move in then im going there straight from work and not leaving until i go to work. I dont want to do that, i like having my own freedom and so does she hers.

Normal folk pull together when there is a child involved.

Strange that when benefits are considered this changes.

So if you believe that you do not fall into the category, why ask the question here and not just fill out the forms in the way you think is right? You know its not right, or you wouldn't be asking and disagreeing with peoples responses.

Because i dont want to get either of us into trouble if the forms are filled out wrong. I dont think its wrong because in my opinion we're not living together as a couple but then its not my decision.

Im not disagreeing with peoples responses as such, as some of you say we're not classed as a living together couple and some of you say we are. Where you say we are im just trying to understand how. Im just trying to get a decision and after looking through alot of threads on here it seems like a big grey area and nobody really knows.

We've both decided that its best i dont live there full time but i guess its either that or she gets hardly no benefit and struggles or we split up.

It just seems we're being forced to live together.

You support her like couples do.

Blame the government for forcing couples to live apart so that benefits are maximised. It may not seem right but them the rules!

I agree that the whole policy stinks I hope that future policies are changed to encourage people to live together as a couple.
