No Buying Toiletries in April Challenge!

I'm a die-hard no-spend-on-toiletries-till-whenever gal. I don't think I've bought a single item since last October and I reckon I still have enough to last me until about Christmas-time.
I'm doing quite well avoiding tempting must-have items in Boots, Superdrug and the supermarket but those lovely bargains in the local pound shop keep attracting my attention and they're right by the front door, damn them. They have some lovely Charles Worthington shampoos and conditioners in at the moment and they keep tempting me but MUST RESIST!0 -
*Shuffles in embarassedly carrying a post from the old thread which she just dumped into what she thought was the the new thread, only to be nudged along here by Bronnie*
*Dumps post and exhales loudly (well, it's getting very heavy now, and there has been a lot of lugging from pillar to post)*

I still can't answer your query though, sorry!!lostinrates wrote: »Pickle have you done the stretch test on your hair to see whether you need moisture or protein from your conditioner?
I learned it from one of the lovely people here, and its almost eradicated bad hair days....
after take hair from the head , wet it, an gently stretch, then release...
if it doesn't shrink back you need protein, if i snaps you nee moisture...
Thanks for that tip LIR!!!! :Trosemary54 wrote: »p.s after not drinking wine at all during lent I can confirm wine has no calories as have not lost any weight.....actually put some on so wine must make you lose weight:j:j:j roll on sunday, never mind chocie, pass me the bottle:rotfl:

I have replaced my bubble bath (remember Id run out and had to pillage my mums??) with a 99p one from Waitrose - its called Cinnamon something, is it nice?? smells ok
I had benefit mascara and lip gloss appear today from a magazine subscription - so can ditch my old, lumpy mascaras (yay!) now....
Im going to a ball next week, so Friday lunchtime I am having my makeup done on the Benefits counter at Boots (the dreaded!) and I have little doubt that I shall be buying something... they do some superdooper foundationalike that isnt heavy dont they?? I think thats where I will head - I hate the foundations Ive got (I dotn wear makeup often - so that doesnt help!) but Id like to find something that I can wear...
oh - and Im walking round with a HUGE grin on my face today - Ive just watched my horses 2 year old son win his first race VERY easily...Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
Oh, I almost forgot! I used up a Batiste dry shampoo so that's £1.95 into the pot. WIBA: yes definitely, and I already have another one in stock.
I also (oh the shame) bought some toiletries in the CS at lunchtime. I got a P&P eye cream, P&P body serum and a large pot of Clinique Superdefense for £5 in total!!!!! The poor man in the shop mustn't have known how expensive they are normally, I'm sure he just priced them the same as the M&S royal jelly gift sets lol!!!! Don't tell me any of you would have resisted that, I won't believe it! :rotfl:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Ooo shiny new thread for April. Yay! Think my priorities for April are:
- sort the make up bag. I think I'm up to 8 or 9 foundations...
- use up the Frangipanji (ooh spelling) by Elemis body lotion
- don't buy unnecessary or duplicate items

End of March update:
Plodding on, trying to use things up, still stuck with the endless S&G body butter, almost finished my lovely S&G handwash (another bottle in the stash
).
March spend on toiletries: 2 bottles of mouthwash £1I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
will try again this month, my stash has gone down considerably, one big basket is now completely empty, am at the stage where I have one thing of each opened and one in hand apart from the things which last forever like body cream and face packs.
March spends
1 mouthwash
2 deodrants
tampax
loo rolls All essentials I think you will all agree!
Oh and used some vouchers to get a nail varnish which I didn't really need but liked the look of, turns out it's very similar to one IO already have once it was out of the bottle!Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
Hi,
I hope everyone's being good and not buying too much. I thought i'd update my list and see what i've got left.
In March i used
1 bar of soap
1 Shower gel
2 razors
1 shampoo
1 conditioner
1 pack of face wipes
I bought
1 shower gel
1 shampoo
4 razors
1 tube of face mask
1 facial wash
1 moisturiser
And i was given 3 nail varnishes by my Sister who didn't like the colours. Everything i bought was needed except perhaps the moisturiser. My skin is really spotty lately and i was wondering if the nivea creme i usually use is a bit heavy. Yesterday i bought the Simple moisturiser and it's the first one in ages that hasn't reacted with my skin. I'll use the nivea on my feet.
