Anybody using chicken pellets to deter cats?
I bought a big tub of chicken pellets and scatter them all over the lawn. I have tried everything else and this is my last resort if the cat still does his business, I guess I will have to get use to clean the poo. Does anybody know how often do you need to use the pellets? A tub of 10 kgs is enough for both lawns. I did not wear gloves and my fingers stunk next time I will do. I have spread a few over neighbour's front lawn, they do their business there but not on mine front. They like the back lawn. I wish he would clean them. Thanks

I use chicken pellets every year as a fertiliser, it has zero effect on the cats in the garden.0

As its posted yesterday, can i assume its not an April Fool? The pellets will go soft and you will tread them everywhere, apart from scorching the grass.0

If only, the cats round here use wherever they like, lawn or flower / veg border, and I use chicken pellets as fertiliser, never stops them
The only pleasure is sometimes catching one with a good squirt of water from a water pistol, if they sold water machine guns I would buy oneEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

I swear some cat owners tell them before they go out "If you're going to crap on a lawn make sure it isn't theirs" :mad:0 -

cats only go on the lawn, if the grass is long, as already stated they will want to cover it with something - so mow your lawn more often
however, where did you get the idea chicken pellets repel cats?

My cat craps on the lawn whatever the length the grass when he used to dig tidy holes. I suspect it's a territorial thing as there are so many feline invaders out there now. Might also be the confusion of old age. Have not found anything to stop the habit. Just sigh and go out with a poop scoop and plastic bag regularly. (Of course they might be pooing on the lawn because I use chicken pellets on the beds?)0
