Thanks Nuala. Me eating more than 1000 cals a day is easier said than done sorry
...it's just I have reduced bread in the freezer and like it's mega low cal simple...
Had to phone GP and OOH re stomach  but they were greatso like more painkillers (I seem to have a love/hate relationship with them LOL) and upping the esomeprazole for the time being. Worked last night and like even managed to sell that 'whoopsie' sewing machine from the other week and made a £3 profit
. So glad that's gone....
Crochet in a mo (will try and post progress pics @ some point Nuala) and like typing tutor this am. Think I should really read the 'cottage industry' stuff on here for tips on selling my sewing online...
Blessings

Good morning everyone,
Thought it was about time I updated here
Good to see everyone has good news - SF, Bails, CW and everyone else :j
Kiwi - you are probably travelling now, hope everything is going well!
I'm not doing too badly - have had 2 weeks of temp work but due to the fact that they want me to work 5 days a week, I cant do it anymore (have agri work on some days). The agency are going to ring me about another job next week.
Am going to plant my courgettes again - the cat ate my seedlings. Also bought a couple of sweetcorn, which I'll plant today, though have to get more soil first. Have been at OHs this week, the weather was gorgeous. Spent loads of time on the beach and the moorsGoing to do a carboot tomorrow or Monday, depending on which has better weather. Not sure what I'm doing today - something indoors, as its raining.
Take care everyone
Edit: Not sure who was asking about the spinach, but spanokopita is lovely. Spinach, mushrooms and cheese inside filo pastry nom nom nomWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Good morning everyone
Am really sorry Erme, I should have kept my big gob shut!It was a gut reaction (no pun intended!) cos I care a lot about our little frugal family! Hope your tummy will be better soon. ((((((Hugs)))))! :grouphug: Well done on making a profit on your old sewing machine - and how did you guess I'd want to see pics of your crochet? :rotfl:I
That's annoying about the TV licence Doom_and_gloom ... I kept getting mild threats about the TV license addressed to my Mum after she died even though I had rung up and transferred it into my name and paid for the renewal. I think they blamed it on "the computer" which I imagine must be like evil HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Blairweech - well done on the job (even if the want you for too many days). :T The idea of your cat eating seedlings made me smile - I've never had a pet so didn't know they ate things like that.
I have pigeons in my garden that eat the bird seed I put out. I hardly ever see small birds eating it now although I think the tits do use the hanging feeder. But I am still putting the bird seed on the ground in the hope that it will deter the pigeons and magpies from eating my seedlings or the newly sown seeds.
It's a bit miserable here today but I'm hoping for a lift to the dump with some garden waste - I have mountains of the stuff. It's a bit of a peeve of mine - I think the council should collect it once every so often. We're being encouraged not to drive (and I don't have a car) to be green so it's the least they could do. And bonfires are a no-no because of all the dioxins released (and they're illegal and not very nice for my neighbours). Rant over!
I hope not to spend too much (hopefully will spend nothing) this weekend as May's spends are not looking great. I am still within overall budget I think but now that I have to save for my friend's wedding it is going to be hard.
Also I have some dates and am thinking of making sticky toffee pudding ... mmmm. I have found lots of recipes online but if anyone has a nice one they swear by, please share!
Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Hi everyone,
Went to the carboot this morning, bought a book for £1 and two pairs of sunglasses for £1 . I was pleased with this as I need a new pair but was reluctant to pay £20+ for them in a shop (I have a tendency to break them/leave them somewhere). Spent the rest of the day planting more seeds/repotting stuff and doing some research on the internet. To which end, I have found this
Instructions for a Reusable Sandwich Wrap
I was looking for alternatives to cling film/foil for my sandwiches (I was using a plastic box, but sometimes my sandwiches dont fit in it depending on which bread I have/I have too many sandwiches) HTH someoneWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Just popping in to congratulate everyone with new jobs, new contracts and new wedding dresses (Bails!
)
Hope everyone's enjoying the bank holiday weekend.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hi everyone,
Just on to update for the end of the month.
May was an expensive month in a few ways and the present budget took quite a bashing, DS was 21 and I also bought DD1's wedding dress (for September) It was a bargain dress though £275.00 so I can't complain.
The food budget went a bit haywire this month as well - don't know why but will have to reign in next month. The freezers are full and cupboards groaning, and the garden should start to produce soon.
Still haven't spent any money on new clothes or shoes for OH and I this year - I will need to look for an outfit for the wedding but I may try and make do with what I have for the rest of the year, though if my diet works I'll need a few things.
Nearly half way through the year - hope you are all well.
By the way how about Frugalshire for the English contingent.0
