    hey,

I've had a good day - am slowly working my way through my huge list To Do list, am vowing not to take anything else on until I have ALL these jobs completed as I am sick of seeing the same jobs on my list! Today I was at sewing class and worked on my bed valance; the fabric is amazing! looks very expensive but was a very frugal £2.50 a metre. My room is going to be the plushest its ever been.

I have spent all afternoon working on the blasted spreadsheet and managed to get it to add up for me - not sure who invented that piece of software but they need shooting. I have also worked on making a meals list (less strict than a menu plan) and decided to use up the last of the cream on making a carrot and coriander soup but it had already turned so a bit miffed about that.

But my shopping list is done although I still cant find a way to work in the spinach or the swede I have had forever in the freezer. Any ideas welcomed.

I use chopped/shredded spinach in a 'cream sauce' (I make a basic white one), and serve it with fish or chicken. That's one thing I have lurking in my freezer for when DS moves out ;)

Swede would go to the dog, as no-one in the house eats the vile stuff !!

Its going to be one he!! of a never ending cream sauce as the bag of frozen spinach is huge! I dont particularly like swede on its own at least, so was kind of hoping for ideas of other things I can put it in.

We always got carrots and swede mashed together at primary school (and at home, as my parents used to do it too....... even then I didn't like swede, so would leave the lot untouched much to their annoyance!)

ETA: Is it spinach leaves you've got? I find they wilt to a much smaller quantity when cooked

Congratulations on almost finishing your teaching practice slowlyfading! Its crazily hard work and you should be proud of yourself. Jen carrot and swede mash is ok or add the mashed swede to mashed potatoes and use as sheperds pie topping. You can also just chuck it in soup. The spinach will be nice in pasta sauce etc.

I have BIG news today - I've got a JOB!!! Finally after four years of hard work I'm a real teacher! I had four interviews over the past two days and the last one phoned me up to offer me a job a couple of hours after the interview. I accepted straight away and then two more schools called to offer me a job. My faith in the world has been restored! I can't wait until September!
